'Ali b. Abu Talib reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing of silk and yellow clothes, and the gold ring, and the reciting of the Qur'an in the ruku' (state of kneeling in prayer).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me to use gold rings. to wear silk clothes and to recite the Qur'an in ruku' and sajda (prostration), and to wear yellow garments.

نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ التَّخَتُّمِ بِالذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لِبَاسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَعَنْ لِبَاسِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me- but I do not say that he forbade you- from wearing rings of gold, and from wearing Al-Qassi, and from wearing Al-Mufaddam (garments dyed deep red) and Al-Mu'asfar (garments dyed with safflower), and from reciting Qur'an while bowing."

نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلاَ أَقُولُ نَهَاكُمْ عَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْمُفَدَّمِ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ رَاكِعًا

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me from rings of gold, garments dyed with safflower, and wearing Al-Qassi, and from reciting Qur'an while bowing."

نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me from four: Gold rings, wearing Al-Qassi, reciting Qur'an while I am bowing, and from wearing garments dyed with safflower."

نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ عَنِ التَّخَتُّمِ بِالذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ وَوَافَقَهُ أَيُّوبُ إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُسَمِّ الْمَوْلَى

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me from wearing gold rings, and from garments of Al-Qassi, and garments dyed with safflower, and reciting Qur'an while bowing."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبُوسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَقِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me from four things: Wearing garments dyed with safflower, and from wearing gold rings, and from wearing Al-Qassiyah garments, and reciting Qur'an while I am bowing."

نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ عَنْ لُبْسِ ثَوْبٍ مُعَصْفَرٍ وَعَنِ التَّخَتُّمِ بِخَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيَّةِ وَأَنْ أَقْرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me from wearing gold rings, and from wearing Al-Qassiyah garments, and garments dyed with safflower, and reciting Qur'an while I am bowing."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لَبُوسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَقِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ

"The Prophet ﷺ forbade me from wearing gold rings, from reciting the Qur'an when bowing, and from wearing Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed with safflower."

نَهَانِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ رَاكِعًا وَعَنِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me-but I do not say he forbade you- from wearing gold rings, Al-Qassi, and from wearing Al-Mufaddam, and from wearing clothes dyed with safflower, and from reciting Qur'an when bowing."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لَبُوسِ الْقِسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَقِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from wearing Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed from safflower, and from wearing gold rings, and from reciting Qura'n while bowing."

نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us to wear a Qassi garment, a garment dyed with safflower, gold rings, and reading the Qur'an while bowing.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited me from rings of gold, and from wearing Al-Qassi, and from reciting in the bowing and prostration positions, and from wearing what was dyed with 'Usfur."

نَهَانِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ التَّخَتُّمِ بِالذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لِبَاسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَعَنْ لِبَاسِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Ibrahim ibn Abdullah ibn Hunayn from hisfatherfromAliibnAbiTalibthattheMessengerof Allah ﷺ forbade wearing the qassi (an Egyptian garment, stripedwithsilk),wearing gold rings, and reciting the Qur'an in ruku.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me to wear gold rings, to wear a blend of linen and silk, to recite Qurʿan when bowing and prostrating and to wear clothes dyed with safflower.

نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ التَّخَتُّمِ بِالذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لِبَاسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَعَنْ لِبَاسِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ

It was narrated from ʿAli bin Abi Talib ؓ that The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade garments made from a blend of linen and silk, or garments dyed with safflower, wearing gold rings and reciting Qurʿan whilst bowing.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from wearing Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed from safflower, and from wearing gold rings, and from reciting Qura'n while bowing." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1044)

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from wearing Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed from safflower, and from wearing gold rings, and from reciting Qura'n while bowing." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1044)

«نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْمُعَصْفَرَةِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from wearing rough clothing and saffron-colored clothing, and from wearing gold jewelry, and from reciting in the bowing position. He also said on another occasion that he forbade the recitation of the Quran in the bowing position. Zaid bin Waqid contradicted him, narrating from Nafi', who narrated from Ibrahim, who narrated from Ali.

نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى وَعَنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ خَالَفَهُ زَيْدُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ رَوَاهُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me from rings of gold, garments dyed with safflower, and wearing Al-Qassi, and from reciting Qur'an while bowing." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5176)

«نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ» ذِكْرُ الِاخْتِلَافِ عَلَى عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me from four: Gold rings, wearing Al-Qassi, reciting Qur'an while I am bowing, and from wearing garments dyed with safflower." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5178)

نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ عَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَعَنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْمُعَصْفَرِ وَافَقَهُ أَيُّوبُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُسَمِّ الْمَوْلَى

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade me from four things: Wearing garments dyed with safflower, and from wearing gold rings, and from wearing Al-Qassiyah garments, and reciting Qur'an while I am bowing." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5271)

أَنَّهُ قَالَ نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ عَنْ لُبْسِ ثَوْبٍ مُعَصْفَرٍ وَعَنِ التَّخَتُّمِ بِخَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيَّةِ وَأَنْ أَقْرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ

"The Prophet ﷺ forbade me from wearing gold rings, from reciting the Qur'an when bowing, and from wearing Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed with safflower." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1041)

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from wearing gold rings, and Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed with safflower, and reciting Qur'an while I am bowing." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1043)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَلِيًا يَقُولُ «نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ لُبُوسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَقِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ وَأَنَا رَاكِعٌ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade me from wearing Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed from safflower, and from wearing gold rings, and from reciting Qura'n while bowing." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1044)

«نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ لُبِسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ»

اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ

"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ: نَهَانِى رسولُ اللهِ ﷺ عن القراءة في الركوع، والسجود، وعن التختم بالذهب، وعن لباس القسِى، وعن لباس المعصفر".
