Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z-Zubayr al-Makki from Jabir ibn Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Lock the door, tie the waterskin, turn the vessel over or cover it, and put out the lamp. Shaytan does not open a locked door or untie a tied knot, or uncover a vessel. A mouse may set fire to people's houses about them."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَغْلِقُوا الْبَابَ وَأَوْكُوا السِّقَاءَ وَأَكْفِئُوا الإِنَاءَ أَوْ خَمِّرُوا الإِنَاءَ وَأَطْفِئُوا الْمِصْبَاحَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لاَ يَفْتَحُ غَلَقًا وَلاَ يَحُلُّ وِكَاءً وَلاَ يَكْشِفُ إِنَاءً وَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضْرِمُ عَلَى النَّاسِ بَيْتَهُمْ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Close the doors, extinguish the lamps, cover the containers, and put out the flames, for indeed, Shaytan does not open closed doors, nor undo sealed knots, nor uncover containers. Indeed, the wicked person ignites fire upon the inhabitants of the house."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَغْلِقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ وَأَوْكُوا الْأَسْقِيَةَ وَخَمِّرُوا الْإِنَاءَ وَأَطْفِئُوا السُّرُجَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ غُلُقًا وَلَا يَحُلُّ وِكَاءً وَلَا يَكْشِفُ إِنَاءً فَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضْرِمُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Close the doors, cover the containers, put out the lamps, for indeed, Shaytan does not open a closed door, nor untie a tied knot, nor uncover a container. And verily, the sinful person sets fire to people's homes."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَغْلِقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ وَأَوْكُوا السِّقَاءَ وَخَمِّرُوا الْإِنَاءَ وَأَطْفِئُوا الْمِصْبَاحَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَفْتَحُ غَلَقًا وَلَا يَحُلُّ وِكَاءً وَلَا يَكْشِفُ إِنَاءً وَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضْرِمُ عَلَى النَّاسِ بَيْتَهُمْ»  

Jabir ibn 'Abdullah reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Lock the doors, tie the water-skins, turn over the vessels, cover the vessels, and put out the lamps. Shaytan does not open a locked door, nor untie a water-skin, nor uncover a vessel. A mouse can cause a house to burn down with its inhabitants inside it."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَغْلِقُوا الأَبْوَابَ وَأَوْكُوا السِّقَاءَ وَأَكْفِئُوا الإِنَاءَ وَخَمِّرُوا الإِنَاءَ وَأَطْفِئُوا الْمِصْبَاحَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لاَ يَفْتَحُ غَلَقًا وَلاَ يَحُلُّ وِكَاءً وَلاَ يَكْشِفُ إِنَاءً وَإِنَّ الْفُوَيْسِقَةَ تُضْرِمُ عَلَى النَّاسِ بَيْتَهُمْ  

That the Prophet ﷺ said: "Close the door, tie the water-skin, turn over the vessel, or cover the vessel, and extinguish the torch. Indeed Ash-Shaitan does not open what is closed, nor undo what is fastened, nor uncover a vessel, but the small vermin may cause a fire in people's houses." He said: There are narrations on this topic from Ibn 'Umar, Abu Hurairah, and Ibn 'Abbas. (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1812)   

"أغلِقُوا الأبْوَابِ، وأوْكِئُوا السِّقَاءَ، وأكفِئُوا الإِنَاءَ، وَخَمِّرُوا الإِناءَ، وأطفِئُوا المِصْباحَ، فإِنَّ الشيطانَ لا يفتح غَلَقًا، ولا يحُلُّ وكاءً، ولا يَكْشِفُ إِناءً، وإن الفُويسِقةَ تَضْرِمُ على النَّاسِ بَيتَهُمْ".
