[Machine] A man from the Ansar passed away leaving behind six slaves who had no other wealth besides them. Upon his death, he freed all of them. This news reached the Prophet ﷺ , and he divided them into three parts, beating a small drum between them. He freed one third and made the other two thirds into separate groups.

الطبراني:١٥٦٠٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ

تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَتَرَكَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَهُمْ جَمِيعًا عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَرُفِعَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «فَجَزَّأَهُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ ثُمَّ أَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَ الثُّلُثَ وَأَرَقَّ الثُّلُثَيْنِ»
