We were with Masruq at the house of Yasar bin Numair. Masruq saw pictures on his terrace and said, "I heard ʿAbdullah saying that he heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The people who will receive the severest punishment from Allah will be the picture makers.'"

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Those who make these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them. 'Make alive what you have created.'"

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَصْنَعُونَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرَ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The painter of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, Make alive what you have created.' "

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The painters of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, 'Make alive what you have created."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

Those who paint pictures would be punished on the Day of Resurrection and it would be said to them: Breathe soul into what you have created.

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ الَّذِينَ يَصْنَعُونَ الصُّوَرَ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

Verity the most grievously tormented people on the Day of Resurrection would be the painters of pictures. Ashajj (one of the narrators) in the hadith narrated by him did not make mention of the word" verity".

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ الأَشَجُّ إِنَّ

The Prophet [SAW] said: "The makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Breathe life into that which you have created.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ الَّذِينَ يَصْنَعُونَهَا يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "The makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Bring to life that which you have created.'"

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

"The people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to match the creation of Allah."

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الَّذِينَ يُضَاهُونَ اللَّهَ فِي خَلْقِهِ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Among the people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنْ أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ الْمُصَوِّرِينَ

"The image-makers will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be told: 'Give life to that which you have created.' "

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Among the people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5364)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ مِنْ أَشَدِّ أَهْلِ النَّارِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرِينَ وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ

"The image-makers will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be told: 'Give life to that which you have created.' " (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2151)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمُصَوِّرِينَ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

The Prophet [SAW] said: "The makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Breathe life into that which you have created.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5361)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الَّذِينَ يَصْنَعُونَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرَ يُعَذَّبُونَ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection will be for the image-makers, and it will be said to them, 'Give life to what you have created.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَشَدُّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

Those who paint pictures would be punished on the Day of Resurrection and it would be said to them: Breathe soul into what you have created. (Using translation from Muslim 2108a)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الَّذِينَ يَصْنَعُونَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرَ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The painter of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, Make alive what you have created.' " (Using translation from Bukhārī 7557)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

"The image-makers will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be told: 'Give life to that which you have created.' " (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2151)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No servant shall make an image except that he will be commanded on the Day of Resurrection to bring it to life."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يُصَوِّرُ عَبْدٌ صُورَةًإِلَّا قِيلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَحْيِ مَا خَلَقْتَ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet (PBUH), he said: "The makers of images will be punished on the Day of Judgment, and it will be said to them, 'Give life to what you have created.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

"The image-makers will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be told: 'Give life to that which you have created.' " (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2151)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الصُّوَرِ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَهَا يُعَذَّبُونَ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection is for the people who inflict the severest punishment on others in this world."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَشَدُّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا لِلنَّاسِ فِي الدُّنْيَا

"The image-makers will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be told: 'Give life to that which you have created.' " (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2151)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

"The image-makers will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be told: 'Give life to that which you have created.' " (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2151)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

"The people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to match the creation of Allah." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5363)

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِعَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الَّذِينَ يُضَاهُونَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, the severest punishment on the Day of Resurrection is for those who try to imitate the creation of Allah."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الَّذِينَ يُضَاهُونَ بِخَلْقِ اللهِ ﷻ

"The image-makers will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and will be told: 'Give life to that which you have created.' " (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2151)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِيُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Verily, the most severe of people in torment to people in this world will be the severest of them in torment on the Day of Resurrection, in the sight of Allah."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا لِلنَّاسِ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَشَدُّهُمْ عَذَابًا عِنْدَ اللهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, the harshest punishment for people on the Day of Resurrection is the harshest of them in this world." So he said, "Go and leave their path."

سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَشَدُّهُمْ عَذَابًا فِي الدُّنْيَا» فَقَالَ اذْهَبْ فَخَلِّ سَبِيلَهُمْ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The most severe of people in punishment on the Day of Resurrection are the image-makers."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَشَدُّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of the servants should create an image, but on the Day of Judgment he will be asked to bring to life what he has created."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يُصَوِّرُ عَبْدٌ صُورَةً إِلَّا قِيلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَحْيِ مَا خَلَقْتَ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Those who make these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them. 'Make alive what you have created.'" (Using translation from Bukhārī 5951)

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَصْنَعُونَ الصُّوَرَ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ»

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ الَّذِينَ يَصْنَعُونَهَا يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Those who make images will be brought forth and it will be said to them, 'Bring to life what you have created.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «يُؤْتَى بِالَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصُّوَرَ فَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ»

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The painter of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, Make alive what you have created.' " (Using translation from Bukhārī 7557)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ»

"The people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to match the creation of Allah." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5363)

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ «إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الَّذِينَ يُضَاهُونَ اللهَ فِي خَلْقَهُ»

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Among the people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5364)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ مِنْ أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ»

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Among the people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5364)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ مِنْ أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Verily, the most severe punishment among people in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be for the image-makers."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا عِنْدَ اللهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ

"أشدُّ النَّاسِ عذابًا عنْدَ الله يوْمَ القيامةِ الَّذين يُضاهون بخلقِ الله".

"أشدُّ النَّاسِ عذابًا يوْم القِيَامةِ عالمٌ لم ينفَعْهُ عِلْمُه".

"أَشَدُّ النَّاسِ عَذابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيامَةِ الْمَكْفِيُّ الْفَارغُ".

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Those who make these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them. 'Make alive what you have created.'" (Using translation from Bukhārī 5951)

"إِنَّ الَّذينَ يَصْنَعُونَ هذه الصُّوَرَ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَة فَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ: أحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُم ".

"إِنَّ الْمُصَوِّرِينَ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ: أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُم ".

"إِنَّ أشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ الْمُصَوِّرُونَ ".

"إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عذَابًا يومَ الْقيَامَة مَنْ شَتَم الأَنبيَاءَ ثُمَّ أَصْحَابِى، ثُمَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ".

"إِنَّ أصحَاب هَذِهِ الصُّورِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ: أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقتُمْ ".

"إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هذهِ الصُّوَر يُعَذَّبُونَ بِهَا يُقَالُ لَهُم: أَحيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ، وَإِنَّ الْبَيْتَ الَّذى فِيهِ الصُّوَرُ لا تَدخْلُه الْمَلائِكَةُ".

"إِنَّ مِنْ أَشَدِّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ القيامَةِ المُصَوِّرُون ".

"إِنَّ من أَشد النَّاس عَذَابًا يوم القِيامة الذين يُصَوِّرون هذه الصورَ".

"يَا عَائِشَةُ: أَشَدُّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ الذِينَ يُضَاهُونَ بِخَلقِ الله".
