Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "On the Day of Resurrection Death will be brought forward in the shape of a black and white ram. Then a call maker will call, 'O people of Paradise!' Thereupon they will stretch their necks and look carefully. The caller will say, 'Do you know this?' They will say, 'Yes, this is Death.' By then all of them will have seen it. Then it will be announced again, 'O people of Hell !' They will stretch their necks and look carefully. The caller will say, 'Do you know this?' They will say, 'Yes, this is Death.' And by then all of them will have seen it. Then it (that ram) will be slaughtered and the caller will say, 'O people of Paradise! Eternity for you and no death O people of Hell! Eternity for you and no death."' Then the Prophet, recited:-- 'And warn them of the Day of distress when the case has been decided, while (now) they are in a state of carelessness (i.e. the people of the world) and they do not believe.' (19.39)

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ؓ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُؤْتَى بِالْمَوْتِ كَهَيْئَةِ كَبْشٍ أَمْلَحَ فَيُنَادِي مُنَادٍ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ فَيَقُولُ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ وَكُلُّهُمْ قَدْ رَآهُ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ فَيَقُولُ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ وَكُلُّهُمْ قَدْ رَآهُ فَيُذْبَحُ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ خُلُودٌ فَلاَ مَوْتَ وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ خُلُودٌ فَلاَ مَوْتَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ} وَهَؤُلاَءِ فِي غَفْلَةٍ أَهْلُ الدُّنْيَا {وَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ}

Death would be brought on the Day of Resurrection. in the form of a white-coloured ram. Abu Kuraib made this addition: Then it would be made to stand between the Paradise and the Hell. So far as the rest of the hadith is concerned there is perfect agreement (between the two narrators) and it would be said to the inmates of Paradise: Do you recognise this? They would raise up their necks and look towards it and say: Yes, ' it is death. Then it would be said to the inmates of Hell-Fire.. Do you recognise this? And they would raise up their necks and look and say: Yes, it is death. Then command would be given for slaughtering that and then it would be said: 0 inmates of Paradise,, there is an everlasting life for you and no death. And then (addressing) to the inmates of the Hell-Fire, it would be said: 0 inmates of Hell-Fire, there is an everlasting living for you and no death. Messenger of Allah (may peace be u@on him) then recited this verse pointing with his hand to this (material) world:" Warn them, this Day of dismay, and when their affairs would be decided and they would be un- mindful and they believe not" (xix. 39).

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُجَاءُ بِالْمَوْتِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَأَنَّهُ كَبْشٌ أَمْلَحُ زَادَ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ فَيُوقَفُ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ وَاتَّفَقَا فِي بَاقِي الْحَدِيثِ فَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ قَالَ وَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا قَالَ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ قَالَ فَيُؤْمَرُ بِهِ فَيُذْبَحُ قَالَ ثُمَّ يُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ خُلُودٌ فَلاَ مَوْتَ وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ خُلُودٌ فَلاَ مَوْتَ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ { وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ} وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited: And warn them of a Day of griefs and regrets (19:39) and he said: 'Death will be brought as if it is a mixed black and white ram, until it is halted upon the barrier between Paradise and the Fire. It will be said: 'O people of Paradise! They will raise up their necks to look. It will be said: 'O people of the Fire! And they will raise up their necks to look. It will be said: 'Do you recognize this?' They will say: 'Yes. This is death.' Then it will be laid down and slaughtered. If it were not that Allah had decreed that the inhabitants of Paradise would remain, then they would die of joy, and if it were not that Allah had decreed that the inhabitants of the Fire would remain, then they would die of grief.'"

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ؓ قَالَ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺَ ( وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ ) قَالَ يُؤْتَى بِالْمَوْتِ كَأَنَّهُ كَبْشٌ أَمْلَحُ حَتَّى يُوقَفَ عَلَى السُّورِ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ فَيُقَالُ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ فَيُضْجَعُ فَيُذْبَحُ فَلَوْلاَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَضَى لأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ الْحَيَاةَ فِيهَا وَالْبَقَاءَ لَمَاتُوا فَرَحًا وَلَوْلاَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَضَى لأَهْلِ النَّارِ الْحَيَاةَ فِيهَا وَالْبَقَاءَ لَمَاتُوا تَرَحًا

[AI] "Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: Death will appear in the form of a dusty black-colored ram and will be stood between Paradise and Hell. It will be said to the people of Paradise, 'Do you recognize this?' They will look and say, 'Yes, it is death.' It will be said to the people of Hell, 'Do you recognize this?' They will look and say, 'Yes, it is death.' Then it will be announced that relief has come. It will be slaughtered and it will be said, 'Eternal life, with no more death.'

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ يُؤْتَى بِالْمَوْتِ كَكَبْشٍ أَغْبَرَ فَيُوقَفُ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيَرَوْنَ أَنْ قَدْ جَاءَ الْفَرَجُ فَيُذْبَحُ وَيُقَالُ خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Death will be brought forward in the form of a dirty white ram, and it will be placed between Paradise and Hell. Then it will be said to the people of Paradise, 'Do you recognize this?' They will look and say, 'Yes, this is Death.' Then it will be said to the people of Hell, 'Do you recognize this?' They will look and say, 'Yes, this is Death.' And they will see that relief has come. Then it will be slaughtered, and it will be said, 'Eternal life, with no death.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يُؤْتَى بِالْمَوْتِ كَبْشًا أَغْثَرَ فَيُوقَفُ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيُقَالُ لِأَهْلِ النَّارِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيَرَوْنَ أَنْ قَدْ جَاءَ الْفَرَجُ فَيُذْبَحُ فَيُقَالُ خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of Hell enter Hell, death will be brought forward like a salted ram. It will be placed between Paradise and Hell, and it will be said to the people of Paradise, 'Do you recognize this?' They will look and say, 'Yes, this is death.' Then it will be said to the people of Hell, 'Do you recognize this?' They will look and say, 'Yes, this is death.' Then it will be commanded to slaughter it. It will be said to the people of Paradise, 'You will have eternal life with no death.' And it will be said to the people of Hell, 'You will have eternal life with no death.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse, 'And warn them of the Day of Regret when the matter will have been decided and they, while they are in [a state of] heedlessness, are unaware' (Quran 19:39). He pointed with his hand while saying this. Muhammad ibn 'Ubaid said in his narration, 'They are in a state of heedlessness in this worldly life.' And he said in his narration, 'When the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of Hell enter Hell, death will be brought forward like a salted ram.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ يُجَاءُ بِالْمَوْتِ كَأَنَّهُ كَبْشٌ أَمْلَحُ فَيُوقَفُ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ فَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ قَالَ فَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ فَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ قَالَ فَيُؤْمَرُ بِهِ فَيُذْبَحُ قَالَ وَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ {وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ} [مريم 39] قَالَ وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ فِي غَفْلَةٍ قَالَ أَهْلُ الدُّنْيَا فِي غَفْلَةِ الدُّنْيَاَ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ يُجَاءُ بِالْمَوْتِ كَأَنَّهُ كَبْشٌ أَمْلَحُ

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يؤتى بالموت كأنه كبش أعين فيوقف بين الجنة والنار فيقال يا أهل الجنة فيشرئبون وينظرون ويقال يا أهل النار فيشرئبون وينظرون فيذبح فيقال خلود لا موت

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Death will be brought on the Day of Resurrection in the form of a salty ram, and it will be placed between Paradise and Hell. It will be said to the people of Paradise, 'Do you recognize this?' They will look and sniff and say 'Yes, this is death.' Then it will be said to the people of Hell, 'Do you recognize this?' They will look and sniff and say 'Yes, this is death.' Then it will be slaughtered, and it will be said to the people of Paradise, 'Eternity without death.' And it will be said to the people of Hell, 'Eternity without death.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُجَاءُ بِالْمَوْتِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي صُورَةِ كَبْشٍ أَمْلَحَ فَيُوقَفُ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ فَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ ثُمَّ يُذْبَحُ ثُمَّ يُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ خُلُودٌ فَلَا مَوْتَ وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ خُلُودٌ ولَا مَوْتَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ وَأُدْخِلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ يُجَاءُ بِالْمَوْتِ كَأَنَّهُ كَبْشٌ أَمْلَحُ فَيُنَادِي مُنَادٍ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَكُلٌّ قَدْ رَأَوْهُ فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَكُلُّهُمْ قَدْ رَأَوْهُ فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ فَيُؤْخَذُ فَيُذْبَحُ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ خُلُودٌ وَلَا مَوْتَ وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ خُلُودٌ وَلَا مَوْتَ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ {وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ} [مريم 39] قَالَ أَهْلُ الدُّنْيَا فِي غَفْلَةٍ

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ regarding this verse {And warn them of the Day of Regret} [Maryam 39], he said: He calls out to the people of Paradise and they respond eagerly, looking on. Then he calls out to the people of Hellfire and they respond eagerly, looking on. Then it is said, "Do you know what death is?" They say, "Yes." Then death is brought in the form of a salty, old ram, and it is said, "This is death." Then it is presented and slaughtered. He said, "O people of Paradise, it is eternal life with no death, and O people of Hellfire, it is eternal life with no death." Then he recited {And warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will have been decreed} [Maryam 39].

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ} [مريم 39] قَالَ يُنَادِي يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ فَيَنْظُرُونَ وَيُنَادِي يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ فَيَنْظُرُونَ فَيُقَالُ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ الْمَوْتَ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ فَيُجَاءُ بِالْمَوْتِ فِي صُورَةِ كَبْشٍ أَمْلَحَ فَيُقَالُ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ فَيُقَدَّمُ فَيُذْبَحُ قَالَ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ خُلُودٌ وَلَا مَوْتَ وَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ {وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ} [مريم 39]

"إِذا دخلَ أهْلُ الجنَّةِ الجنَّةَ، وأهلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ يُجَاءُ بالموْتِ كأنَّهُ كبشٌ أمْلحٌ؛ فَيُوقَفُ بينَ الجنَّةِ والنَّارِ، فيقالُ: يَأهْلَ الجنَّةِ، هلْ تعرفونَ هذا؟ فيشرئبُّون،

فينظرونَ، ويقولونَ: نعَمْ، هذا الموْتُ، وكلهُمْ قد رآهُ، ثم ينادى: يا أهلَ النارِ! هل تعرفون هذا؟ فيشرئبون وينظرون، ويقولون: نعم، هذا الموتُ، وكلهم قدْ رآهُ. فيؤْمَرُ بِه، فيُذْبَحُ، ويُقالُ: يا أهْلَ الجنةِ! خلودٌ ولا مَوْت، ويا أهْلَ النارِ! خلودٌ ولا موْتَ".

"يُؤْتَى بِالْمَوْتِ كَأَنَّه كَبْشٌ أَمْلَحُ حَتَّى يُوقَفَ عَلَى السُّورِ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ، فَيُقَالُ: يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ؟ فَيَشْرَئِبوُّنَ، وَيُقَالُ: يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ؟ فَيَشْرئِبُّون، فَيُقَالُ: هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ فَيَقُولُونَ: نَعَمْ، هَذَا الْمَوتُ، فَيُضْجَعُ وَيُذْبَحُ، فَلَوْلَا أَنَّ اللَّه قَضَى لأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ الْحَيَاةَ وَالْبَقَاءَ لَمَاتُوا فَرَحًا، وَلَوْلَا أَنَّ اللَّه قَضَى لأَهْلِ النَّارِ الْحَيَاةَ فِيهَا لمَاتُوا ترَحًا".
