Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If anyone of you goes to an open space for answering the call of nature he should neither face nor turn his back towards the Qibla; he should either face the east or the west."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلاَ يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلاَ يُوَلِّهَا ظَهْرَهُ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا

The Apostle of Allah ﷺ said: Whenever you go to the desert, neither turn your face nor turn your back towards the Qibla while answering the call of nature, but face towards the east or the west. Abu Ayyub said: When we came to Syria we found that the latrines already built there were facing towards the Qibla. We turned our faces away from them and begged forgiveness of the Lord. He said: Yes.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلاَ تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ وَلاَ تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا بِبَوْلٍ وَلاَ غَائِطٍ وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا قَالَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ فَقَدِمْنَا الشَّامَ فَوَجَدْنَا مَرَاحِيضَ قَدْ بُنِيَتْ قِبَلَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَنَنْحَرِفُ عَنْهَا وَنَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ قَالَ نَعَمْ

When any one amongst you squats for answering the call of nature, he should neither turn his face towards the Qibla nor turn his back towards it.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا جَلَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى حَاجَتِهِ فَلاَ يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلاَ يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has forbidden us to face the two qiblahs at the time of urination or excretion.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَتَيْنِ بِبَوْلٍ أَوْ غَائِطٍ

"Do not face towards the Qiblah nor turn your backs toward it when defecating or urinating, rather face toward the east or the west."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ وَلاَ تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا لِغَائِطٍ أَوْ بَوْلٍ وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When any one of you goes to defecate, let him not face toward the Qiblah, rather let him face towards the east or the west.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلاَ يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَكِنْ لِيُشَرِّقْ أَوْ لِيُغَرِّبْ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from facing both Qiblas while urinating or defecating.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ نَسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَتَيْنِ بِبَوْلٍ أَوْ غَائِطٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade facing both Qiblas (Kaaba in Mecca and Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem) while defecating or urinating.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَتَانِ بِغَائِطٍ أَوْ بَوْلٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not face the Qibla with your private parts, and do not turn your back towards it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ بِفُرُوجِكُمْ وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you goes to relieve himself, he should not face the Qibla (direction of prayer) nor turn his back towards it, but he should either face the east or the west." Abu Ayyub commented, "When we arrived in Sham (Greater Syria), we found the toilets were made toward the Qibla, so we would change our direction and seek forgiveness from Allah."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا وَلَكِنْ لِيُشَرِّقْ أَوْ لِيُغَرِّبْ قَالَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا الشَّامَ وَجَدْنَا مَرَاحِيضَ جُعِلَتْ نَحْوَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَنَنْحَرِفُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from facing both Qiblas (Kaaba in Mecca and Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem) while urinating or defecating.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ نَسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَتَيْنِ بِبَوْلٍ أَوْ غَائِطٍ

Yahya related to me from Malik from one of the Ansar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade defecating or urinating while facing the qibla.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ تُسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةُ لِغَائِطٍ أَوْ بَوْلٍ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When one of you goes to relieve themselves, do not face the Qibla (the direction of prayer) nor turn your back towards it with your urine or feces, but rather face east or west."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا بِغَائِطٍ وَلَا بَوْلٍ وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا»

"Do not face towards the Qiblah nor turn your backs toward it when defecating or urinating, rather face toward the east or the west." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 21)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ بِبَوْلٍ وَلَا غَائِطٍ وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا»

"Do not face towards the Qiblah nor turn your backs toward it when defecating or urinating, rather face toward the east or the west." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 21)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا بِغَائِطٍ وَلَا بَوْلٍ شَرِّقُوا وَغَرِّبُوا»

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not face the qiblah (direction of prayer) with your private parts, nor turn your back towards it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ بِفُرُوجِكُمْ وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When any one of you goes to defecate, let him not face toward the Qiblah, rather let him face towards the east or the west.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 22)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا وَلَكِنْ لِيُشَرِّقْ أَوْ لِيُغَرِّبْ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not face the Qibla (direction of prayer) nor turn your back towards it while passing urine or stool, and while relieving yourselves, face the east and the west."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا بِغَائِطٍ وَلَا بَوْلٍ وَشَرِّقُوا وَغَرِّبُوا»

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever goes to relieve himself, should not face the Qiblah nor turn his back towards it. Rather, face towards the east or the west."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ ذَهَبَ مِنْكُمْ إِلَى الْغَائِطِ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا يُوَلِّهَا ظَهْرَهُ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not face the Qibla (direction of prayer) while you are defecating or urinating, but face the east or the west."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ بِغَائِطٍ وَلَا بَوْلٍ وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا وَغَرِّبُوا»

"The Messenger of Allah forbade the person who went to the Gha'it to face the Qiblah. He said: 'face towards the east or the west.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 318)

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةَ الَّذِي يَذْهَبُ إِلَى الْغَائِطِ وَقَالَ «شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "When one of you goes out to relieve himself, let him not face towards the Qibla (direction of prayer) or turn his back towards it, rather let him face east or west."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا خَرَجَ أَحَدُكُمْ لِلْغَائِطِ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا وَلْيُشَرِّقْ أَوْ لِيُغَرِّبْ»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "When one of you goes to the bathroom, he should not face the qibla (direction of prayer) nor turn his back to it. Rather, turn to the east or west."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا ذَهَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْغَائِطِ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا وَغَرِّبُوا»

"Do not face towards the Qiblah nor turn your backs toward it when defecating or urinating, rather face toward the east or the west." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 21)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا وَغَرِّبُوا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not face the Qibla (direction of prayer) while urinating or defecating, rather face the east or the west."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ بِبَوْلٍ وَلَا غَائِطٍ وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا»

"The Messenger of Allah forbade the person who went to the Gha'it to face the Qiblah. He said: 'face towards the east or the west.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 318)

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ الَّذِي يَذْهَبُ الْغَائِطَ الْقِبْلَةَ وَقَالَ «شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When any one of you goes to defecate, let him not face toward the Qiblah, rather let him face towards the east or the west.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 22)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When any one of you goes to the toilet, he should not face the Qibla (direction of prayer) nor turn his back towards it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا ذَهَبَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْخَلَاءَ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا»

"Do not face towards the Qiblah nor turn your backs toward it when defecating or urinating, rather face toward the east or the west." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 21)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا لِغَائِطٍ وَلَا بَوْلٍ وَلَكِنْ شَرِّقُوا أَوْ غَرِّبُوا»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When any one of you goes to defecate, let him not face toward the Qiblah, rather let him face towards the east or the west.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 22)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَكِنْ لِيُشَرِّقْ أَوْ لِيُغَرِّبْ»

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If anyone of you goes to an open space for answering the call of nature he should neither face nor turn his back towards the Qibla; he should either face the east or the west." (Using translation from Bukhārī 144)

"إذا أتى أحدُكم الغائطَ فلا يستقبلْ القبلة، ولا يُوَلَّها ظهَرهُ، شرِّقُوا أو غَرِّبُوا" .

"Do not face towards the Qiblah nor turn your backs toward it when defecating or urinating, rather face toward the east or the west." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 21)

"إذا أتيتم الغائط فلا تستقبلوا القبلَة ولا تستدبروها ببولٍ ولا غائطٍ، ولكن شرِّقوا أو غربوا ".

"إذَا بال أحدكُمْ أوْ تَغَوطَ فلا يسْتَقْبلْ القِبْلةَ ولا يسْتدبْرها بِفْرجِه".

"إِذَا ذهب أحدُكُمْ إلى الخَلاءِ فلا يستقْبلْ القِبْلَةَ ولا يستدْبرها".

"إِذَا ذهب أحدُكُمْ إلى الغائطِ أو البَوْلِ فلا يسْتقْبلْ القبْلةَ، ولا يستدبْرها بفَرْجه".

"إِذَا ذهب أحدُكُمْ إلى الغائط فلا يستقْبِلْ القبْلَةَ ولا يستَدْبِرها لغائط ولا بَوْل".

"إِنَّمَا أَنا لكم بمنزلةِ الوالدِ أُعَلِّمُكُمْ، فإِذا أَتى أحدُكم الغائطَ فلا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقبْلَة ولا يستدبرْها، ولا يَسْتَطِب بيمينِهِ ".

"إِنَّمَا أَنا لكم مثلُ الوالدِ للولدِ أُعَلِّمُكُمْ، إِذا أَتيتم الغائِطَ فلا تستقبِلوا القبلةَ ولا تستدبروها".

"لَا تَستَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ بِفُرُوجِكُمْ وَلَا تَسْتَدْبِرُوهَا".

"لَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الْقِبْلَةَ بِغَائِطٍ أَوْ بَوْلٍ".

"لا يَتَغَوَّط أحَدُكُمْ لِبَوْلَهِ وَلا لِغَيرِه مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقبْلَة وَلا مُسْتَدْبِرَهَا، شَرِّقُوا أوْ غَرِّبُوا".
