The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When one of you places in front of him so me. thing such as the back of a saddle, he should pray without caring who passes on the other side of it.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلَ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ فَلْيُصَلِّ وَلاَ يُبَالِ مَنْ مَرَّ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ

We used to say prayer and the animals moved in front of us. We mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said: If anything equal to the back of a saddle is in front of you, then what walks in front, no harm would come to him. Ibn Numair said: No harm would come whosoever walks in front.

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي وَالدَّوَابُّ تَمُرُّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ مِثْلُ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ تَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ أَحَدِكُمْ ثُمَّ لاَ يَضُرُّهُ مَا مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَقَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ فَلاَ يَضُرُّهُ مَنْ مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

When you place in front of you something such as the back of a saddle, then there is no harm if someone passes in front of you (i.e. the other side of it).

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا جَعَلْتَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ مِثْلَ مُؤَخَّرَةِ الرَّحْلِ فَلاَ يَضُرُّكَ مَنْ مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ

Messenger of Allah said: "When one of you placed something like the post (handle) of the camel saddle in front of him, then let him perform Salat and not concern himself with who passes beyond that."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلَ مُؤَخَّرَةِ الرَّحْلِ فَلْيُصَلِّ وَلاَ يُبَالِي مَنْ مَرَّ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَسَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَسَبْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ وَأَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ وَعَائِشَةَ

“We used to perform prayer while the beasts were passing in front of us. That was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said: ‘If something like the hand of a saddle* is placed in front of anyone of you, it will not matter whoever passes in front of him.” * It is the piece of wood on the camel saddle which is held on to (to climb onto the camel).

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي وَالدَّوَابُّ تَمُرُّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ مِثْلُ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ تَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلاَ يَضُرُّهُ مَنْ مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

We used to pray with animals passing in front of us. We mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ and he said: “If you put something the height of the back of a saddle in front of you, then it will not matter what passes beyond it.”

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي وَالدَّوَابُّ تَمُرُّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ مِثْلُ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ تَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ أحَدِكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَضُرُّهُ مَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ عُمَرُ مَرَّةً بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

“Let one of you put something in front of him the height of the back of a saddle, then pray.ʿ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَجْعَلُ أَحَدُكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلَ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلُ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ فَلْيُصَلِّ وَلَا يُبَالِي مَنْ مَرَّ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ»

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي وَالدَّوَابُّ تَمُرُّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا فَسَأَلْنَا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مِثْلُ آخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ يَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلَا يَضُرُّهُ مَا مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ»

[AI] "On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: 'If one of you places something equal to the height of the saddle in front of him, it does not harm him who passes behind it.' And in the narration of Abu Abdullah, 'Let him pray and not be concerned about whoever passes behind it.'"

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلَ مُؤَخِّرَةِ الرَّحْلِ فَلَا يَضُرُّهُ مَنْ مَرَّ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ وَفِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ فَلْيُصَلِّ وَلَا يُبَالِي مَنْ يَمُرُّ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ

[AI] We were praying and the animals were passing in front of us, so we mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, "The rear end of the saddle should be in front of one of you, and what passes in front of him will not harm him."

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي وَالدَّوَابُّ تَمُرُّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ مِثْلُ مُؤَخِّرَةِ الرَّحْلِ يَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَحَدِكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَضُرُّهُ مَا مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

When you place in front of you something such as the back of a saddle, then there is no harm if someone passes in front of you (i.e. the other side of it). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 685)

"إِذَا جَعلتَ بينَ يَدَيكَ مِثْلَ مُؤَخَّرَةِ الرحْلِ فلا يَضُرُّك مَنْ بين يَديكَ".

"إِذا كانَ بينَ يدَيكَ مِثْلُ مُؤَخِّرةِ الرَّحْلِ لم يقطعْ صلاتَكَ ما مرَّ بينَ يديكَ".

"إذا كانَ بينَكَ وبينَ مَنْ يمرُّ بينَ يديكَ مِثلُ مؤَخِّرةِ الرَّحْلِ فقد سَتركَ".

"إذا وَضع أحَدُكم -وهو يريد أن يصلى- بين يديهِ مِثْلِ مؤخرِة الرَّحْلِ فليُصلِّ، ولا يُبالى مَنْ مرَّ وراء ذلك".

"لِيَضَعْ أحَدُكُمْ بَينَ يَدَيهِ مِثْلَ مُؤَخِّرَةِ الرَّحْلِ، وَلَا يَضُرُّه مَا مَر بَين يَدَيهِ".
