The Prophet ﷺ never fasted in any month more than in the month of Sha'ban.

He used to say, "Do those deeds which you can do easily, as Allah will not get tired (of giving rewards) till you get bored and tired (of performing religious deeds)." The most beloved prayer to the Prophet ﷺ was the one that was done regularly (throughout the life) even if it were little. And whenever the Prophet ﷺ offered a prayer he used to offer it regularly.

لَمْ يَكُنِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَصُومُ شَهْرًا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ كُلَّهُ

وَكَانَ يَقُولُ خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَأَحَبُّ الصَّلاَةِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَا دُووِمَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّتْ وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلاَةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا

The most beloved action to Messenger of Allah ﷺ was that whose doer did it continuously and regularly.

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ

that she said, "The Prophet ﷺ was asked, 'What deeds are most loved by Allah?'" He said, "The most regular ˹and constant ones˺ of them, even if a few." He added, "˹Hold yourself˺ responsible for ˹only those˺ acts that are within your ability."

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: «أَدْوَمُهَا، وَإِنْ قَلَّ۔» وَقَالَ: «اكْلَفُوا مِنَ الأَعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ۔»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not observe fast in any month of the year more than in the month of Sha'ban, and used to say: Do as many deeds as you are capable of doing, for Allah will not become weary (of giving you reward), but you would be tired (of doing good deeds) ; and he also said: The deed liked most by Allah is one to which the doer adheres constantly even if it is small.

لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الشَّهْرِ مِنَ السَّنَةِ أَكْثَرَ صِيَامًا مِنْهُ فِي شَعْبَانَ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ خُذُوا مِنَ الأَعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَنْ يَمَلَّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَكَانَ يَقُولُ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Choose such actions as you are capable of performing, for Allah does not grow weary till you do. The acts most pleasing to Allah are those which are done most continuously, even if they amount to little. Whenever he began an action, he would do it continuously.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ اكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَإِنَّ أَحَبَّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ وَكَانَ إِذَا عَمِلَ عَمَلاً أَثْبَتَهُ

“Take on only as much as you can do of good deeds, for the best of deeds is that which is done consistently, even if it is little.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الْعَمَلِ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

“Take on only as much as you can do of good deeds, for the best of deeds is that which is done consistently, even if it is little.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4240)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اكْلَفُوا مِنَالْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ الْعَمَلِ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Take from the actions what you can bear, for Allah never gets tired until you get tired.' Aisha said, 'And the prayer that was most beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the one that he consistently performed, even if it was little.' Aisha said, 'And whenever the Prophet ﷺ performed a prayer, he consistently performed it.' Abu Salama said, 'Allah says, 'And those who are constant in their prayers' (Quran, Al-Ma'arij 23).'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّتْ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا قَالَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ وَ {الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِمْ دَائِمُونَ} [المعارج 23]

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to fast from the months of the year more in the month of Sha'ban. He used to fast the whole month of Sha'ban and he used to say, "Take from actions what you are capable of, for Allah does not get tired until you get tired." Indeed, prayer was most beloved to him when he consistently performed it, even if it was little. And whenever he prayed a certain prayer, he would continue to pray it consistently.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَصُومُ مِنْ شَهْرٍ مِنَ السَّنَةِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ كُلَّهُ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّ وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً يُدَاوِمُ عَلَيْهَا

That which is done continuously, even if it is small. (Using translation from Muslim 782b)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ؟ قَالَ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ قَالَ بَهْزٌ مَا دُووِمَ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ اكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْأَعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ

[AI] It was reported that the Prophet ﷺ did not fast more in any month of the year than he did in Sha'ban. He used to fast the entire month of Sha'ban. He used to say, "Take from your actions what you can bear, for Allah does not tire until you tire. The most beloved prayer to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the one that was consistent, even if it was little." When he would pray a prayer, he would remain consistent in it.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَصُومُ مِنْ شَهْرٍ مِنَ السَّنَةِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ صَوْمِهِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ كُلَّهُ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَإِنَّهُ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا دُووِمَ عَلَيْهَا وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me while I was with a beautiful woman. He asked, "Who is this?" I replied, "This is Fulanah, the daughter of Fulan, O Messenger of Allah. She does not sleep at night." He said, "Take from the deeds what you can bear, for Allah does not tire until you tire. The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are done consistently, even if they are few."

دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعِنْدِي امْرَأَةٌ حَسَنَةُ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذِهِ؟ فَقُلْتُ هَذِهِ فُلَانَةُ بِنْتُ فُلَانٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هِيَ لَا تَنَامُ اللَّيْلَ فَقَالَ مَهْ مَهْ خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَأَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

[AI] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to persistently perform a certain prayer, and the prayer that he loved the most was the one that he consistently performed, even if it was little. He said, 'Verily, Allah does not become bored until you become bored.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّتْ وَقَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Take from your actions what you can bear, for Allah does not get tired until you get tired. And the prayer that was most beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the one he performed regularly, even if it was few. And when he prayed a prayer, he would stick to it.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّتْ وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا

[AI] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, said that he did not fast more in any year than he did in the month of Sha'ban. He would fast the entire month of Sha'ban and would say, "Take on only what you are able to handle in terms of deeds, for Allah does not tire until you tire. The deeds that were most beloved to the Prophet ﷺ were those that were done consistently, even if they were few in number. And when he would perform a prayer, he would consistently perform it."

عَائِشَةُ لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصُومُ مِنَ السَّنَةِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ كُلَّهُ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَإِنَّهُ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّتْ وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ loved the act of charity, as long as it was available to him, even if it was little.

كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا دَامَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that A'isha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ said, "The actions which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ loved most were those which were done most constantly."

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ

The most beloved action to Messenger of Allah ﷺ was that whose doer did it continuously and regularly. (Using translation from Bukhārī 6462)

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ «كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Take from the acts of worship that which you can handle, for indeed Allah does not become weary until you become weary." She (Aisha) said, "The most beloved actions to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were those that were done continuously, even if they were few in number. And when he performed a prayer, he would continue to perform it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا» قَالَتْ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا دَامَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَامَ عَلَيْهَا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Take from your actions what you can bear, for Allah does not get tired until you get tired. And the most beloved deeds to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ are those that are done consistently, even if they are few. When he performed a prayer, he would continue to perform it regularly. Abu Salama reported that Allah says, "Those who are constant in their prayers."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا» وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَدْوَمَهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا يَقُولُ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ «قَالَ اللَّهُ {الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِمْ دَائِمُونَ} »

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ إن الله لا يمل حتى تملوا وَإن أحب الأعمال إلى الله أدومها وَإن قلت عليكم من الأمر ما تطيقون

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "You should perform deeds to the extent of your ability, as Allah does not tire until you tire."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ بِمَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا»

[AI] "The most beloved deeds to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ were those done consistently, even if they were few."

«كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا دِيمَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ»

[AI] "He (the Prophet Muhammad) did not die until his most preferred form of worship was sitting in prayer, and the action that was most beloved to him was consistency in it, even if it was little."

«مَا مَاتَ حَتَّى كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ» تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ

[AI] The actions most beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ are those that are consistent, even if they are few.

أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا دِيمَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

That which is done continuously, even if it is small. (Using translation from Muslim 782b)

"أحبُّ الأعمالِ إلى اللهِ أدَوَمُها وإن قلَّ".

"أحب العَمَل إلى الله: ما داوم عليه صاحِبُه، وإن قلّ".

"اكُلَفوا من العملِ ما تطيقون، فإِنَّ اللهَ لا يَمَلُّ حتى تَمَلُّوا، وإنَّ أحبَّ العملِ إلى اللهِ أدْوَمُهُ، وإن قَلَّ" .

"عَلَيكُمْ أيهَا النَّاسُ مِن الأعمالِ مَا تُطيقونَ، فإِنَّ اللهَ لا يَملُّ حَتَّى تَملُّوا، وإِن أحَبَّ الأعمالِ إِلى اللهِ أدومُها وإن قَلَّ".

"يَا أيُّهَا النَّاسُ! عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ الأعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ لا يَمَلُّ حَتَى تَملُّوا، وَإنَّ أَحَبَّ الأعْمالِ إِلَى اللهِ مَا دُووم عَلَيْهِ وَإنْ قَلَّ".

"عَنْ عَائِشَةَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَصُومُ مِنْ شَهْرٍ مِنَ السَّنَةِ أَكْثَر مِنْ صِيامِهِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فإنه كان يصوم شعبان كله، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: خُذُوا مِنْ العَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ سُبْحَانَه وَتَعَالَى لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا، وَإِنَّهُ وَإنْ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّتْ وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى دَامَ عَلَيْهَا".
