أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ قَالَ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not observe fast in any month of the year more than in the month of Sha'ban, and used to say: Do as many deeds as you are capable of doing, for Allah will not become weary (of giving you reward), but you would be tired (of doing good deeds) ; and he also said: The deed liked most by Allah is one to which the doer adheres constantly even if it is small.
لَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الشَّهْرِ مِنَ السَّنَةِ أَكْثَرَ صِيَامًا مِنْهُ فِي شَعْبَانَ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ خُذُوا مِنَ الأَعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَنْ يَمَلَّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَكَانَ يَقُولُ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى اللَّهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Choose such actions as you are capable of performing, for Allah does not grow weary till you do. The acts most pleasing to Allah are those which are done most continuously, even if they amount to little. Whenever he began an action, he would do it continuously.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ اكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا وَإِنَّ أَحَبَّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ وَكَانَ إِذَا عَمِلَ عَمَلاً أَثْبَتَهُ
"I asked 'Aishah and Umm Salamah about which deed did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ like to do most. They said: 'Whatever he could do regularly, even if it was little.'"
سُئِلَتْ عَائِشَةُ وَأُمُّ سَلَمَةَ أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ كَانَ أَحَبَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَتَا مَا دِيمَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not pass away until most of his prayers were offered sitting down, except for the obligatory prayers, and the dearest of actions to him were those which were done persistently, even if they were few."
مَا مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَتَّى كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلاَتِهِ قَاعِدًا إِلاَّ الْفَرِيضَةَ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ أَدْوَمَهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ
"By the One in Whose Hand is my soul. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not pass away until most of his prayers were offered sitting down, except for the obligatory prayers, and the dearest of actions to him were those which were done persistently, even if they were few."
وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَتَّى كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلاَتِهِ قَاعِدًا إِلاَّ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ خَالَفَهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ فَرَوَاهُ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
[AI] I said to Aisha, "Tell me about the most beloved deed to the Messenger of Allah." She said, "The deed that a person continues to do, even if it is small."
قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ حَدِّثِينِي بِأَحَبِّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ الرَّجُلُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا
[AI] "From the Prophet ﷺ , he said: The most beloved actions to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are few."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ أَدْوَمُهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّ
The most beloved action to Messenger of Allah ﷺ was that whose doer did it continuously and regularly. (Using translation from Bukhārī 6462)
أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that A'isha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ said, "The actions which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ loved most were those which were done most constantly."
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ أَحَبَّ الطَّاعَاتِ إِلَى اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا مَا وَاظَبَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَرْءُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ «كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الَّذِي يَدُومُ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ»
ذِكْرُ الْعِلَّةِ الَّتِي مِنْ أَجْلِهَا أُمِرَ بِهَذَا الْأَمْرِ
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Take from the acts of worship that which you can handle, for indeed Allah does not become weary until you become weary." She (Aisha) said, "The most beloved actions to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were those that were done continuously, even if they were few in number. And when he performed a prayer, he would continue to perform it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا» قَالَتْ وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا دَامَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَامَ عَلَيْهَا
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِصِحَّةِ الْعِلَّةِ الَّتِي تَقَدَّمَ ذِكْرُنَا لَهَا
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Take from your actions what you can bear, for Allah does not get tired until you get tired. And the most beloved deeds to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ are those that are done consistently, even if they are few. When he performed a prayer, he would continue to perform it regularly. Abu Salama reported that Allah says, "Those who are constant in their prayers."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا» وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَدْوَمَهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا يَقُولُ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ «قَالَ اللَّهُ {الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلَاتِهِمْ دَائِمُونَ} »
ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ التَّطَوُّعَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ
[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not pass away until his most frequent prayer was while he was sitting, and the most beloved action to him was whatever the servant persistently did, even if it was small."
«مَا مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَتَّى كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاتِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ وَكَانَ أَحَبَّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ وَإِنْ كَانَ يَسِيرًا»
قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ إن الله لا يمل حتى تملوا وَإن أحب الأعمال إلى الله أدومها وَإن قلت عليكم من الأمر ما تطيقون
[AI] "The most beloved deeds to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ were those done consistently, even if they were few."
«كَانَ أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا دِيمَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنْ قَلَّ»
[AI] "He (the Prophet Muhammad) did not die until his most preferred form of worship was sitting in prayer, and the action that was most beloved to him was consistency in it, even if it was little."
«مَا مَاتَ حَتَّى كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ» تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ

"خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ؛ فَإنَّ اللَّه لَا يَمَلُّ حتى تَمَلّوا (وَأَحَبُّ الأَعْمَال إِلى اللَّه ما دَاوَمَ عليه صَاحِبُهُ، وَإِنْ قَلَّ).
"عَلَيكُمْ أيهَا النَّاسُ مِن الأعمالِ مَا تُطيقونَ، فإِنَّ اللهَ لا يَملُّ حَتَّى تَملُّوا، وإِن أحَبَّ الأعمالِ إِلى اللهِ أدومُها وإن قَلَّ".
"يَا أيُّهَا النَّاسُ! عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ الأعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ لا يَمَلُّ حَتَى تَملُّوا، وَإنَّ أَحَبَّ الأعْمالِ إِلَى اللهِ مَا دُووم عَلَيْهِ وَإنْ قَلَّ".
"عن أم سلمة قَالَتْ: والذي توفى نفسه ما توفي حتى كان أكثر صلاته قاعدًا إلا المكتوبة، وَكَانَ أعْجَب العمل إليه الذي يدوم عليه صاحبه وإن كان يسيرًا".
