A man from the people asked him after he finished the prayer, so he said, "The Shaytan came and I seized him, and if I had taken him, I would have tied him to a pillar of the mosque until the children of Madinah circled around him."

قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةَ الْغَدَاةِ فَأَهْوَى بِيَدِهِ قُدَّامَهُ فَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ حِينَ قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَ «جَاءَ الشَّيْطَانُ فَانْتَهَرْتُهُ وَلَوْ أَخَذْتُهُ لَرَبَطْتُهُ إِلَى سَارِيَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِي الْمَسْجِدِ حَتَّى يَطُوفَ بِهِ وُلْدَانُ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ»
