The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the 'Asr prayer at (the place known as) Mukhammas, and then said: This prayer was presented to those gone before you, but they lost it, and he who guards it has two rewards in store for him. And no prayer is valid after till the onlooker appears (by onlooker is meant the evening star).  

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْعَصْرَ بِالْمُخَمَّصِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الصَّلاَةَ عُرِضَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَضَيَّعُوهَا فَمَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَيْهَا كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الشَّاهِدُ وَالشَّاهِدُ النَّجْمُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Asr prayer with us, and when he finished he said, "Indeed, this prayer was presented to those who came before you, but they neglected and abandoned it. So whoever among you prays it, his reward will be doubled, and there will be no prayer after it until the witness is seen, and the witness is the setting of the sun."  

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ قَدْ عُرِضَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَتَوَانَوْا فِيهَا وَتَرَكُوهَا فَمَنْ صَلَّاهَا مِنْكُمْ ضُعِّفَ لَهُ أَجْرُهَا ضِعْفَيْنِ وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى يُرَى الشَّاهِدُوَالشَّاهِدُ النَّجْمُ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, this prayer, meaning the Asr prayer, was made obligatory upon those who came before you, but they neglected it. So whoever among you preserves it today will receive its reward twice, and there is no prayer after it until the witness is seen, meaning the star."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِنَّ» هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ يَعْنِي الْعَصْرَ فُرِضَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَضَيَّعُوهَا فَمَنْ حَافَظَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْهَا أُعْطِيَ أَجْرَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى يُرَى الشَّاهِدُ يَعْنِي النَّجْمَ

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَصْرَ بِالْمَحْمَصِ وَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ عُرِضَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَضَيَّعُوهَا فَمَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَيْهَا كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الشَّاهِدُ وَالشَّاهِدُ النَّجْمُ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ قُتَيْبَةَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Asr with us in the Makhmash area. He said, "Indeed, this prayer was shown to those who came before you, but they neglected it. Whoever guards it, his reward is as if he has performed it twice and there is no prayer after it until the witnesses appear." Ibn Bukayr asked Al-Laith about the witness, and he said, "It is the star."  

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَصْرَ بِالْمُخَمَّصِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ عُرِضَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَضَيَّعُوهَا فَمَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَيْهَا أُوفِيَ أَجْرَهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الشَّاهِدُ قَالَ ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ سَأَلْتُ اللَّيْثَ عَنِ الشَّاهِدِ فَقَالَ هُوَ النَّجْمُ  

"إِنَّ هذِهِ الصلاةَ يعنى -العصرَ- فُرِضَتْ على من كان قبلكم فَضَيَّعُوها، فَمَنْ حافظَ منكم اليومَ عَلَيها كانَ له أَجْرُهُ مَرَّتيْنِ، وَلَا صلاةَ بعدَها حتى يَطلُعَ الشَّاهِدُ. والشَّاهدُ النَّجْمُ" .  

"إِنَّ هذِه الصلاةَ عرضَتْ عَلَى من كانَ قبلَكُم، فتوانَوْا فيها وتركُوهَا، فمن صلَّاها منكم ضُعِّفَ لَهُ أَجْرُهَا مَرَّتيْن، ولا صلاة بَعْدَهَا حتى يُرَى الشاهدُ والشاهِدُ النَّجمُ".
