"إِنَّ هذِه الصلاةَ عرضَتْ عَلَى من كانَ قبلَكُم، فتوانَوْا فيها وتركُوهَا، فمن صلَّاها منكم ضُعِّفَ لَهُ أَجْرُهَا مَرَّتيْن، ولا صلاة بَعْدَهَا حتى يُرَى الشاهدُ والشاهِدُ النَّجمُ".

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with us in a valley called al-Mukhammas during the Asr prayer. He said, "Indeed, this prayer, the Asr prayer, was presented to those before you, but they neglected it. So, whoever prays it will have his reward doubled, and no prayer after it until you see the evening star." I asked Ibn Lahi'ah, "What is the evening star?" He replied, "It is the planet that the Arabs call al-Kawkab, which is the witness of the night."

[AI] On the authority of Abu Basrah Al-Ghifari, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the Asr prayer at Al-Mukhmas, then he departed and said, "This prayer was presented to those who came before you, but they neglected it and left it. So, whoever among you prays it, his reward will be multiplied twice, and there is no other prayer until the witness appears." Al-Layth said, "I heard it from Khayr ibn Nuaym with this chain of narration."
عَنْ أَبِي بَصْرَةَ الْغِفَارِيِّ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى يَوْمًا صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ بِالْمُخَمَّصِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقَالَ «هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ عُرِضَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَتَوَانَوْا عَنْهَا وَتَرَكُوهَا فَمَنْ صَلَّاهَا مِنْكُمْ ضُعِّفَ لَهُ أَجْرُهَا ضِعْفَيْنِ وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الشَّاهِدُ» قَالَ اللَّيْثُ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ خَيْرِ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ
[AI] "He heard Abu Basrah Al-Ghifari saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Asr at the place known as Al-Mukhmas, which was a valley in their land. Then he said, 'Verily, this prayer was presented to those before you, but they abandoned it. So whoever prays it, his reward will be doubled, and there is no prayer after it until you see the witness (i.e. sunset).' And he was referring to the star."
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا بَصْرَةَ الْغِفَارِيَّ يَقُولُ صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعَصْرَ بِالْمُخَمَّصِ وَادٍ مِنْ بَعْضِ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنَّ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ عُرِضَتْ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ فَتَرَكُوهَا أَلَا وَمَنْ صَلَّاهَا ضُعِّفَ لَهُ أَجْرُهَا وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى تَرَوُا الشَّاهِدَ» وَهُوَ النَّجْمُ
أَبُو تَمِيمٍ الْجَيْشَانِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, this prayer, meaning the Asr prayer, was made obligatory upon those who came before you, but they neglected it. So whoever among you preserves it today will receive its reward twice, and there is no prayer after it until the witness is seen, meaning the star."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِنَّ» هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ يَعْنِي الْعَصْرَ فُرِضَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ فَضَيَّعُوهَا فَمَنْ حَافَظَ مِنْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْهَا أُعْطِيَ أَجْرَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَهَا حَتَّى يُرَى الشَّاهِدُ يَعْنِي النَّجْمَ

Ibn Bukayr asked Al-Laith about the witness, and he said, "It is the star."
