The Prophet ﷺ said, "Who among you considers the wealth of his heirs dearer to him than his own wealth?" They replied, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! There is none among us but loves his own wealth more." The Prophet ﷺ said, "So his wealth is whatever he spends (in Allah's Cause) during his life (on good deeds) while the wealth of his heirs is whatever he leaves after his death."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَيُّكُمْ مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا مِنَّا أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ مَالُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَإِنَّ مَالَهُ مَا قَدَّمَ وَمَالُ وَارِثِهِ مَا أَخَّرَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Which one of you loves the wealth of his inheritors more than his own wealth?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, none of us loves his wealth more than the wealth of his inheritors." He said, "Know that there is none among you but that the wealth of his inheritor is dearer to him than his own wealth. Your wealth is only what you send forth, and the wealth of your inheritors is what you leave behind." The Prophet ﷺ also said, "What do you consider as the bravest among you?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, the one who is not afraid of the men." He said, "No, but the truly brave is the one who can control himself when he is angry." The Prophet ﷺ also said, "What do you consider as the most virtuous among you?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, the one who does not have any children." He said, "No, but the most virtuous is the one who does not withhold anything from his children."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّكُمْ مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ؟ قَالَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا مِنَّا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا مَالُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِ وَارِثِهِ قَالَ اعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ مَا لَكَ مِنْ مَالِكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدَّمْتَ وَمَالُ وَارِثِكِ مَا أَخَّرْتَ قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا تَعُدُّونَ فِيكُمُ الصُّرَعَةَ؟ قَالَ قُلْنَا الَّذِي لَا يَصْرَعُهُ الرِّجَالُ قَالَ قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنِ الصُّرَعَةُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا تَعُدُّونَ فِيكُمُ الرَّقُوبَ؟ قَالَ قُلْنَا الَّذِي لَا وَلَدَ لَهُ قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنِ الرَّقُوبُ الَّذِي لَمْ يُقَدِّمْ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ شَيْئًا  

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'For whom among you is the wealth of his heirs dearer to him than his own wealth?' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, there is no one among us for whom his own wealth is not dearer to him than the wealth of his heirs.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Know that there is no one among you for whom the wealth of his heirs is not dearer than his own wealth. Your wealth is that which you have sent on ahead, and the wealth of your heirs is that which you have kept.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3612)   

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَيُّكُمْ مَالُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِ وَارِثِهِ»؟ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا مِنَّا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا مَالُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِ وَارِثِهِ قَالَ «اعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ» قَالُوا مَا نَعْلَمُ إِلَّا ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «مَا مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ إِلَّا مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ» قَالُوا كَيْفَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا مَالُ أَحَدِكُمْ مَا قَدَّمَ وَمَالُ وَارِثِهِ مَا أَخَّرَ»  

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'For whom among you is the wealth of his heirs dearer to him than his own wealth?' قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَيُّكُمْ مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ؟» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا مِنَّا مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا مَالُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِ وَارِثِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ مَالُكَ مَا قَدَّمْتَ وَمَالُ وَارِثِكَ مَا أَخَّرْتَ»  

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'For whom among you is the wealth of his heirs dearer to him than his own wealth?' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, there is no one among us for whom his own wealth is not dearer to him than the wealth of his heirs.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Know that there is no one among you for whom the wealth of his heirs is not dearer than his own wealth. عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَيُّكُمْ مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ ؟ قَالُوا مَا مِنَّا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا مَالُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِ وَارِثِهِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا وَمَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ مَالُكَ مَا قَدَّمْتَ وَمَالُ وَارِثِكَ مَا أَخَّرْتَ  

'Abdullah reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Which of you prefers the money of heirs to his own money?" "Messenger of Allah," they replied, "there is none of us who does not prefer his own wealth to that of his heirs." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Know that there is not one of you who does not prefer his heirs' money to his own. Your wealth is what you have spent (for Allah) and the wealth of your heirs is what you leave."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّكُمْ مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ؟ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا مِنَّا مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلاَّ مَالُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِ وَارِثِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ مَالُكَ مَا قَدَّمْتَ وَمَالُ وَارِثِكَ مَا أَخَّرْتَ  

"اعْلَمُوا أنه ليس منكم من أحدٍ إلا مَالُ وارِثه أحَبُّ إليه من مالِه، مَالُكَ ما قَدَّمت، ومالُ وَارثِك ما أخَّرْت".  

"أيكُمْ مَالُ وَارثِهِ أحَبُّ إِلَيهِ مِنْ مَاله؟ قالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ: مَا مِنْ أَحَد إِلا مَالُه أحبُّ إِلَيه قَال: فَإِن مَالهُ مَا قَدَّمَ وَمَال وارِثِهِ مَا أَخَّرَ".  

"أَيكُمْ مَالُ وَارثِه أحَبُّ إِلَيه من مَالهِ؟ اعْلَمُوا: أَنَّهَ لَيسَ مِنكمْ أحَدٌ إلا مَالُ وَارثِهِ أَحَبُّ إِليهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ، مَا لَكَ مِنْ مَالِكَ إلَّا مَا قَدَّمْتَ، وما لوارثك إِلَّا مَا أَخَّرْتَ".  

"عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّكُمْ مَالُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِ وَارِثِه؟ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ! مَا مِنَّا أَحَدٌ إِلا مَالُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِ وَارِثِه، قَالَ: اعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ، قَالُوا: مَا نَعْلَمُ إِلا ذَاكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا مَالُ وَارِثِهِ أَحَبّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ مَالِهِ، قَالُوا: كَيْفَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ ! قَالَ: إِنَّمَا مَالُ أَحَدِكُمْ مَا قَدَّمَ، وَمَالُ وَارِثِهِ مَا أَخَّرَ".
