[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a battle, and we passed by a woman who had been killed. The people uncovered her face and recognized her. So, he said, "This woman did not fight for the truth, may she be cursed." I said to him, "Do not kill an offspring or a captive."

الكبرى للنسائي:٨٥٧٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْمُرَقَّعِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ الْكَاتِبِ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةٍ فَمَرَرْنَا بِامْرَأَةٍ مَقْتُولَةٍ وَالنَّاسُ عَلَيْهَا فَفرَجُوا لَهُ فَقَالَ «مَا كَانَتْ هَذِهِ تُقَاتِلُ الْحَقَ خَالِدًا» فَقُلْ لَهُ «لَا تُقْتَلْ ذُرِّيَّةً وَلَا عَسِيفًا»

[Machine] "We were raiding with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when we passed by a woman who had been killed and had people gathered around her. They uncovered her for the Prophet ﷺ, who said, 'She should not have been killed.' Then he said, 'Go, for the truth is with Khalid ibn al-Walid and tell him not to kill any offspring or maid servant.'"

الطبراني:٣٤٨٩ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ثنا الْمُرَقَّعُ بْنُ صَيْفِيٍّ عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ الْكَاتِبِ قَالَ

غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَمَرَرْنَا بِامْرَأَةٍ قَدْ قُتِلَتْ لَهَا خَلْقٌ وَالنَّاسُ عَلَيْهَا فَفَرَّجُوا لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا كَانَتْ هَذِهِ لِتُقَاتِلُ» ثُمَّ قَالَ اذْهَبْ فَالْحَقْ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فَقُلْ لَا تَقْتُلْ ذُرِّيَّةً وَلَا عَسِيفًا

"عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ حِينَ غَزَا المُشرِكُونَ، فَمَرَرْنَا بِامْرَأَةٍ مَقْتُولَةٍ ذَاتِ خَلْقٍ، اجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ : مَا كَانَتْ هذِه لِتُقَاتِلَ! ! ثُمَّ قَالَ: الحَقْ خَالِدَ بْنَ الوَلِيدِ فَقُلْ لَهُ: لَا تَقْتُلْ ذُريَّةً وَلَا عَسِيفًا".
