[AI] Ibn ʿUmar, whenever he sat in a gathering, would not get up until he had supplicated for those sitting with him with these words, and he claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate with them for those sitting with him:

“O Allah, apportion to us of fear of You that which will come between us and acts of disobedience to You; and of obedience to You that by which You will cause us to reach Your Paradise; and of certainty that by which You will make the calamities of this world easy for us. O Allah, let us enjoy our hearing, our sight, and our strength as long as You give us life, and make it remain with us to the end; and let our retaliation be against those who wrong us; and grant us victory over those who oppose us; and do not make our calamity in our religion; and do not make the world our greatest concern or the limit of our knowledge; and do not place over us one who will not have mercy on us.”

10162 Suwayd ibn Nasr informed us; he said: ʿAbd Allah informed us from Yaḥyā ibn Ayyūb; he said: ʿUbayd Allah ibn Zahr narrated to me from Khālid ibn Abī ʿImrān that Ibn ʿUmar said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would hardly ever rise from a gathering without supplicating with these supplications, similar to it.

Dua for piety, certainty, and protection from hardship

tirmidhi:3502ʿAlī b. Ḥujr > Ibn al-Mubārak > Yaḥyá b. Ayyūb > ʿUbaydullāh b. Zaḥr > Khālid b. Abū ʿImrān > Ibn ʿUmar

Rarely would the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stand from a sitting until he supplicated with these words for his Companions:

(O Allah, apportion for us, fear of You, that shall come between us and disobedience of You, and of obedience to You, which shall cause us to obtain Your Paradise, and of certainty, which shall make the afflictions of the world easy for us, and enjoyment of our hearing, and our seeing, and our strength as long as You keep us alive, and make it the inheritor of us. And let our vengeance be upon those who have wronged us, and aid us against those who show enmity towards us, and do not make our affliction in our religion, and do not make this world our greatest concern, nor the limit of our knowledge, and do not give power over us to those who will not have mercy on us.).

[Machine] "He would never sit in a gathering without anyone else present, except that he would say, 'O Allah, forgive me for what I have done in the past and what I will do in the future, and what I have hidden and what I have made public, and what You know of me that I do not know. O Allah, grant me from Your obedience what will come between me and Your disobedience, and grant me from Your fear what will bring me closer to Your mercy, and grant me from certainty what will make worldly tribulations easier for me. Bless my hearing and my vision and make them my heirs. O Allah, seek revenge for me from those who wrong me, and help me against those who oppose me, and do not make the world my greatest concern, and do not allow knowledge to be beyond my reach. O Allah, do not let those who do not show mercy towards me have control over me.'" Ibn 'Umar was asked about them, and he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to conclude his gatherings with them."
