23. Giving Life to the Dead Land
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, he will have a reward for it, and whoever feeds wild animals, he will have a reward for it."
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whoever revives a dead land, he will have a reward in it and whatever the wild animals eat from it will be counted as charity for him."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever brings life to a dead land, he will have a reward for it. And whatever the wild animals eat from it, it will be considered as charity for him."
23.2 [Machine] Who brought life to a dead land that belonged to no one?
[Machine] The following passage is a hadith (saying) of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: "Whoever revives a dead land that does not belong to anyone, then he has more right to it." Haywah ibn Shurayh disagreed with him.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives dead land that does not belong to anyone, then it is his and no unjust person has any right to it." Muhammad said, Urwah reported that the unjust person is he who cultivates the ruined land which does not belong to him, while the people have been unable to do so, and thus they leave it until it becomes ruined.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever revives a dead land, it belongs to him and not to any oppressive group." Yahya ibn Said and Laith ibn Saad opposed him.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever brings life back to dead land, it belongs to him and not to any unjust claimant." Al-Layth said, "Then I wrote to Hisham ibn Urwah, and he wrote back to me with a similar narration from Yahya ibn Sa'id."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever knows the land upon which he treads, it belongs to him."
23.3 [Machine] Al-Iqtāʿ
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to give me the salt in Ma'rib, so he gave it to me. A man said, "It is like flowing water, so he refused to give it to me."
[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I requested from him the salt from Ma'rib. So he gave it to me and a man said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is like counting water drops." He said, "In that case, no." 5734 Saeed ibn Amr informed us saying, Baqiyyah narrated to us, and Sufyan said, Ibn Abi Da'ad narrated to me from his father from the Prophet ﷺ with a similar narration, but Muhammad ibn Al-Mubarak disagreed with him.
[Machine] I cut the messenger of Allah ﷺ from the rock salt found in Ma'rib, so he cut it for me. It was said, "It is equivalent to drinking water." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No, then." Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Qais related this.
[Machine] He (the man) came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he asked him for some salt and he gave it to him. When he left, a man said, "O Messenger of Allah, do you know what you gave him?" He replied, "I only gave him a small amount of water." So he took it back from him using the word "a lot of water".
23.4 [Machine] What is protected from weapons?
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "What protects from the evil eye?" He said, "What is not reached by the droppings of camels."
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said: Sufyan met Rabee'ah and he said: Yazid, the freed slave of Al-Munabith, narrated to me from Zaid ibn Khalid Al-Juhani that the Prophet ﷺ was asked about a lost camel. So he became angry and his cheeks turned red, then he said: What is the matter with you and with her? She has her saddle and her water container, she goes on grazing until she meets her owner. And he was asked about a lost sheep, so he said: Take it, as it is either yours, or your brother's, or for the wolf."
[Machine] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about a lost camel. He said, "Why do you care about it? It has its water bag and shoes with it. Let it eat from the trees until its owner finds it." He was then asked about a lost sheep, and he said, "Take it, for it belongs to you, your brother, or the wolf."
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, the lost sheep belongs to you, your brother, or the wolf," he said. The man asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what about the lost camel?" The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , became angry and said, "What do you have to do with it? It has its shoes and its water container until it meets its Lord." Abu Abdur Rahman said, "This hadith is also narrated from Ismail ibn Umayya from Rabiah from Abdullah ibn Yazid."
[Machine] About a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who was asked about the stray animal, and he said, "Know its watering places and its footsteps."
23.5 [Machine] The prevention of his favor.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Excess water should not be withheld so as to prevent (cattle) by it from grass. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3473)
23.6 [Machine] The Fever
[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There is no fever except for Allah and His Messenger."
