23. Giving Life to the Dead Land
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "What protects from the evil eye?" He said, "What is not reached by the droppings of camels."
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said: Sufyan met Rabee'ah and he said: Yazid, the freed slave of Al-Munabith, narrated to me from Zaid ibn Khalid Al-Juhani that the Prophet ﷺ was asked about a lost camel. So he became angry and his cheeks turned red, then he said: What is the matter with you and with her? She has her saddle and her water container, she goes on grazing until she meets her owner. And he was asked about a lost sheep, so he said: Take it, as it is either yours, or your brother's, or for the wolf."
[Machine] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about a lost camel. He said, "Why do you care about it? It has its water bag and shoes with it. Let it eat from the trees until its owner finds it." He was then asked about a lost sheep, and he said, "Take it, for it belongs to you, your brother, or the wolf."
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, the lost sheep belongs to you, your brother, or the wolf," he said. The man asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what about the lost camel?" The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , became angry and said, "What do you have to do with it? It has its shoes and its water container until it meets its Lord." Abu Abdur Rahman said, "This hadith is also narrated from Ismail ibn Umayya from Rabiah from Abdullah ibn Yazid."
[Machine] About a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who was asked about the stray animal, and he said, "Know its watering places and its footsteps."
