"O Messenger of Allah! Allah is not shy to tell the truth. Inform me: if a women sees in a dream what men see should she perform Ghusl from that?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: "Yes." 'Aishah said: "I expressed my displeasure and said: 'Does a woman see that?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to me and said: 'May your right hand be covered with dust! How else would (her child) resemble her?'"

أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ كَلَّمَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَعَائِشَةُ جَالِسَةٌ فَقَالَتْ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ أَرَأَيْتَ الْمَرْأَةَ تَرَى فِي النَّوْمِ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ أَفَتَغْتَسِلُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ لَهَا أُفٍّ لَكِ أَوَتَرَى الْمَرْأَةُ ذَلِكِ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَىَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ تَرِبَتْ يَمِينُكِ فَمِنْ أَيْنَ يَكُونُ الشَّبَهُ

Umm Sulaim asked the Messenger of Allah about a woman who sees in her dream something like that which a man sees. The Messenger of Allah said: "If she sees that and has a discharge, then let her perform a bath." Umm Salamah said: "O Messenger of Allah, does that really happen?" He said: "Yes, the water of the man is thick and white and the water of a woman is thin and yellow. Whichever of them comes first or predominates, the child will resemble (that parent)."

[Machine] His mother, Umm Sulaim, asked the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . She said, "Does a woman see in her dream what a man sees?" He said, "If she sees that in her dream, then she should perform ghusl (a ritual bath)." Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, ﷺ , felt shy and asked, "Could this really be, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Yes, so where else would the resemblance come from? The man's fluid is white and thick, while the woman's is yellow and thin. So, which one comes first or overpowers the other?"

أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ تَرَى فِي مَنَامِهَا مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ إِذَا رَأَتْ ذَلِكَ فِي مَنَامِهَا فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَاسْتَحْيَتْ أَوَيَكُونُ هَذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَمِنْ أَيْنَ يَكُونُ الشَّبَهُ؟ مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ أَبْيَضُ غَلِيظٌ وَمَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ أَصْفَرُ رَقِيقٌ فَمِنْ أَيِّهِمَا سَبَقَ أَوْ عَلَا يَكُونُ الشَّبَهُ

[Machine] Um Salim asked the Prophet ﷺ , "Do women see what men see in their dreams?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "If a woman sees what a man sees, meaning water, then she should perform ablution (ritual washing)." Um Salim asked, "Even when she is experiencing her period?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Yes, the water of a man is thick and white, while the water of a woman is thin and yellow. So, whichever one comes first or overpowers the other, that is the more likely case." Sa'id said, "We doubt the similarity between the two."

أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَتْ تَرَى الْمَرْأَةُ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ فِي مَنَامِهَا؟ فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا رَأَتْ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ يَعْنِي الْمَاءَ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ أَوَ يَكُونُ؟ فَقَالَ نَّبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ نَعَمْ مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ غَلِيظٌ أَبْيَضُ وَمَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ رَقِيقٌ أَصْفَرُ فَمِنْ أَيِّهِمَا سَبَقَ أَوْ عَلَا قَالَ سَعِيدٌ نَحْنُ نَشُكُّ يَكُونُ الشَّبَهُ

[Machine] Um Salim asked the Prophet ﷺ about a woman who sees in her dream what a man sees. The Prophet ﷺ said to her, "O Um Salim, if that woman sees such a thing, let her perform ghusl (ritual bath)." Um Salama said, "I feel shy about that, O Messenger of Allah. Can this really happen?" He replied, "Yes, the water of a man is thick and white, while the water of a woman is thin and yellow. Whichever of them precedes or is more prominent determines the resemblance."

أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ تَرَى فِي الْمَنَامِ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَهَا «يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ إِذَا رَأَتْ ذَلِكَ الْمَرْأَةُ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ» قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ وَاسْتَحْيَيْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ وَيَكُونُ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ غَلِيظٌ أَبْيَضُ وَمَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ رَقِيقٌ أَصْفَرُ وَأَيُّهُمَا سَبَقَ أَوْ عَلَا كَانَ مِنْهُ الشَّبَهُ»

In case a woman sees that, she must take a bath. Umm Sulaim said: I was bashful on account of that and said: Does it happen? Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Yes (it does happen), otherwise how can (a child) resemble her? Man's discharge (i. e. sperm) is thick and white and the discharge of woman is thin and yellow; so the resemblance comes from the one whose genes prevail or dominate. رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ تَرَى فِي مَنَامِهَا مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ إذا رأيت فِي مَنَامِهَا فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ وَاسْتَحْيَتْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَيَكُونُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَمِمَّ يَكُونُ الشَّبَهُ إِنَّ مَاءَ الرَّجُلِ غَلِيظٌ أَبْيَضُ وَمَاءَ الْمَرْأَةِ رَقِيقٌ أَصْفَرُ فَأَيُّهُمَا عَلا أَوْ سبق كان منه الشبه

"أن أمَّ سُلَيْم. سَألتُ النَّبِى ﷺ عَنِ المَرأةِ تَرَى فِى مَنَامِهَا مَا يَرَى الرَّجلُ فَقَالَ: إِذَا رَأَت ذَلِكَ فَأَنْزَلَت فَعَلَيْهَا الغُسْل، فَقَالَت أُمُّ سُلَيْم: يَارَسُولَ اللهِ! أيَكُونُ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ غَلِيظٌ أبيَض، وَمَاءُ المَرْأة رَقيق أَصْفَر فَأيهمَا سَبَقَ أوْ عَلاَ أَشْبَهْهُ الوَلَدُ".
