While I was with the Prophet ﷺ a man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! I have committed a legally punishable sin; please inflict the legal punishment on me'.' The Prophet ﷺ did not ask him what he had done. Then the time for the prayer became due and the man offered prayer along with the Prophet ﷺ , and when the Prophet ﷺ had finished his prayer, the man again got up and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! I have committed a legally punishable sin; please inflict the punishment on me according to Allah's Laws." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Haven't you prayed with us?' He said, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah has forgiven your sin." or said, "....your legally punishable sin."

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَجَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَىَّ قَالَ وَلَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَصَلَّى مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الصَّلاَةَ قَامَ إِلَيْهِ الرَّجُلُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْ فِيَّ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ غَفَرَ لَكَ ذَنْبَكَ أَوْ قَالَ حَدَّكَ

Messenger of Allah, I have committed an offence which deserves imposition of haad, so impose it upon me according to the Book of Allah. Thereupon he said: Were you not present with us at the time of prayer? He said: Yes. Thereupon he said: You have been granted pardon. (Using translation from Muslim 2764)

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا قَالَ فَلَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ عَنْهُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْ فِيَّ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «أَصَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا الصَّلَاةَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «قَدْ غُفِرَ لَكَ»

[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so please establish the punishment upon me." He turned away from him. Then he said again, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so please establish the punishment upon me." Again, he turned away from him. Then the prayer was performed, and when he finished, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed a sin, so please establish the punishment upon me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Did you perform ablution when you came?" He said, "Yes." He asked, "Did you pray with us?" He said, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then go, for surely Allah has forgiven you."

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَلْ تَوَضَّأْتَ حِينَ أَقْبَلْتَ؟ » قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «صَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا؟ » قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ غَفَرَ لَكَ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Did you perform ablution when you came?" He replied, "Yes." He said, "And did you pray with us?" He replied, "Yes." He said, "Then go, for Allah has forgiven you."

قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَأُقِيمَتَ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَا تَوَضَّأْتَ حِينَ أَقْبَلْتَ» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَصَلَّيْتَ مَعَنَا» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْكَ»

A man came to the prophet ﷺ and said : Messenger of Allah ! I have committed a crime which involves prescribed punishment so inflict it on me . He said : Have you not performed ablution when you came? He said : Yes, He said: Have you not prayed with us when we prayed ? He said : Yes .He then said : Go off, for Allah, the Exalted, forgave you. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4381)

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ قَالَ «هَلْ تَوَضَّأْتَ حِينَ أَقْبَلْتَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ اللهَ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْكَ»

رَسولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ وَلَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ عَنْهُ وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلاةُ فَصَلَّى مَعَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّلاةَ قَالَ يَا رَسولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْ فِيَّ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ شَهِدْتَ الصَّلاةَ مَعَنَا قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ غَفَرَ لَكَوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى عَن أَنَس إلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ولاَ رَوَاهُ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ إلاَّ هَمَّامٌ ولاَ عَن هَمَّامٍ إلاَّ عَمْرو بْنُ عَاصِم
