Yahya related to me from Malik from Qatan ibn Wahb ibn Umayr ibn al-Ajda that Yuhannas, the mawla of az-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam informed him that he was sitting with Abdullah ibn Umar during the troubles (at the time of al-Hajaj ibn Yusuf) . A female mawla of his came and greeted him. She said, "I want to leave, Abu Abd ar-Rahman. The time is harsh for us." Abdullah ibn Umar said to her, "Sit down, O you with little knowledge, for I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No one will be patient in hunger and hardship in it (Madina) except that I will be a witness or intercede for him on the Day of Rising.' "  

مالك:٤٥-٣ – حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ قَطَنِ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ الأَجْدَعِ أَنْ يُحَنَّسَ مَوْلَى الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ فَأَتَتْهُ مَوْلاَةٌ لَهُ تُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي أَرَدْتُ الْخُرُوجَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ اشْتَدَّ عَلَيْنَا الزَّمَانُ فَقَالَ لَهَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ اقْعُدِي لُكَعُ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Abu Abd al-Rahmin, I have decided to leave (Medina) for the time is hard for us, whereupon Abdullah said to her: Stay here, foolish lady, for I have heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: For one who shows endurance on the hardships and rigour of it (of Medina) I would be an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, from Qatan ibn Wahb, that Yunis, the slave of Zubayr, informed him that he was sitting with Abdullah ibn Umar during a time of turmoil, when a woman who was a slave of his came to greet him. She said, "O Abu Abdurrahman, I intended to go out, but the situation has become severe for us." Abdullah ibn Umar said to her, "Stay where you are, because I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No one endures the hardships and difficulties of this world except that they will have an intercessor or a witness for them on the Day of Judgment.'"  

الطبراني:١٣٣٠٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ قَطَنِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ أَنَّ يُحَنَّسَ مَوْلَى الزُّبَيْرِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ فَجَاءَتْهُ مَوْلَاةٌ لَهُ تُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنِّي أَرَدْتُ الْخُرُوجَ وَاشْتَدَّ عَلَيْنَا الزَّمَانُ فَقَالَ لَهَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ اقْعُدِي لَكَاعِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا كَانَتْ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

"عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ مَوْلاَةً لَهُ أَتَتْهُ فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّى قَد اشْتَدَّ عَلَىَّ الزَّمَانُ، وَأنَا أُرِيدُ أنْ أخْرُجَ إِلَى العِرَاقِ، فَقَالَ: فَهَلَّا إِلَى الشَّام أرْضِ المَحْشَرِ؟ اصْبِرِى لَكَاع؛ فَإِنِّى سَمعْتُ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى لأوَائِهَا كنتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ. وَفِى لَفْظٍ: لاَ يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لأوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أحَدٌ إلَّا كنتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ القيَامَةِ".
