ibnhibban:2755 – Abū Khalīfah > Abū al-Walīd > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Mūsá b. Salamah > Saʾalt Ibn ʿAbbās > Akūn Bimakkah Fakayf Uṣallī

"I missed the prayer in congregation when I was in Al-Batha; how do you think I should pray?" He said: "Two rak'ahs, the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1444)  

ابن حبّان:٢٧٥٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قُلْتُ أَكُونُ بِمَكَّةَ فَكَيْفَ أُصَلِّي؟ قَالَ

«صَلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ سُنَّةَ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ»

I asked Ibn 'Abbas: How should I say prayer when I am in Mecca, and when I do not pray along with the Imam? He said: Two rak'ahs (of prayer) is the Sunnah of Abu'l-Qasim ﷺ.
