[Machine] There was a man in the city whom I did not know in the city one of those who was farthest from the mosque and he used to pray the prayers with the Messenger of Allah. It was said to him, "If you bought a donkey to ride on during the hot and dark times?" He said, "By Allah, it does not please me that my place is closer to the mosque by clinging to it." So, the Prophet ﷺ was informed about that, and he asked him about it. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, my traces, sins, returning to my family, my approach, and my retreat, should they be written?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah will grant you all of that and give you what you expect."

There was a certain person, out of all people of Medina, who used to pray in the mosque. I do not know that any one of them lived at a farther distance than that man. Still he never missed the prayer in congregation in the mosque. I said: it would be better if you buy a donkey and ride it in heat and darkness. He said: I do not like that my house be by the side of the mosque. The discourse reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said him about it. He said: I did it so that my walking to the mosque and return to my home when I return be recorded. He said: Allah has granted all this to you; Allah has granted all that you reckoned.

[Machine] There was a man in the city that I didn't know anyone who lived farther away from the mosque than him. So, he was advised, "If you were to buy a donkey and ride it during the day and night, it would still not bring you as close to the mosque as your house, or he said, your place, is." So the incident was narrated to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said, "What did you intend by saying, 'It does not please me that my house, or he said, my place, is next to the mosque'?" He said, "I intended that my coming to the mosque and my returning to my family would be recorded as acts of obedience." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has given you all of that, or Allah has given you what you intended, or Allah has given you all of that which you intended."

He used to attend all the prayers with the Prophet ﷺ . So, I said to him, "If only you bought a donkey to ride during the intense heat and darkness." He replied, "By Allah, I would not like my house to be farther from the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." Then, I informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about this, and he asked him about it. He said, "O Prophet of Allah, it is so that my trace, my return to my family, and my approach to them may be written down for me, or something similar to that."
