Ibn ʿAbbas said, "The Prophet ﷺ forbade the meeting of caravans (on the way) and ordained that no townsman is permitted to sell things on behalf of a bedouin." I asked Ibn ʿAbbas, "What is the meaning of his saying, 'No townsman is permitted to sell things on behalf of a bedouin.' " He replied, "He should not work as a broker for him."

البخاري:٢٢٧٤ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

Ibn ʿAbbas said, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do not go to meet the caravans on the way (for buying their goods without letting them know the market price); a town dweller should not sell the goods of a desert dweller on behalf of the latter.' I asked Ibn ʿAbbas, 'What does he mean by not selling the goods of a desert dweller by a town dweller?' He said, 'He should not become his broker.' "

muslim:1521 – Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm And ʿAbd b. Ḥumayd > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Ibn Ṭāwus from his father > Ibn ʿAbbās

The riders (carrying merchandise) should not be met in the way, and townsman should not sell for a man of the desert. The narrator reported. I said to Ibn 'Abbas: What do these words really imply-" The townsman for the man of the desert"? He said: That he should work as a broker on his behalf.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a townsman to sell for a man from the desert. I asked: What do you mean by the selling of a townsman for a man from the desert ? He replied: He should not be a broker for him.

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a city-dweller to sell for a Bedouin." (Sahih)I (Tawus) said to Ibn 'Abbas: "What is meant by the words: 'A city-dweller selling for a Bedouin?' He said: "He should not be a broker for him."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ prohibited taking an advanced payment for a deferred delivery, and selling something that is still being transported. I said to Ibn Abbas, "What does it mean that 'one should not sell something that is still being transported'?" He replied, "It means that it should not have a middleman."

البيهقي:١٠٩١٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَزِيَادُ بْنُ الْخَلِيلِ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ لَفْظُهُ قَالُوا ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ أنا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
