37.14 Wages of a broker

[Machine] And Ibn Sirin, Ata, Ibrahim, and Al-Hasan did not see any harm in getting the wages of a broker. Ibn Abbas said, "There is no harm in selling this garment, so whatever is added to the price, it is yours." Ibn Sirin said, "If he says sell it for this much and it doesn't make any profit, then it is yours, or it is between me and you, so there is no harm in it." And the Prophet ﷺ said, "Muslims are bound by their conditions."

Ibn ʿAbbas said, "The Prophet ﷺ forbade the meeting of caravans (on the way) and ordained that no townsman is permitted to sell things on behalf of a bedouin." I asked Ibn ʿAbbas, "What is the meaning of his saying, 'No townsman is permitted to sell things on behalf of a bedouin.' " He replied, "He should not work as a broker for him."
