Narrated ʿAbdullah bin Amir that his father had told him that he had seen the Prophet ﷺ praying Nawafil at night on the back of his Mount on a journey, facing whatever direction it took.

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى السُّبْحَةَ بِاللَّيْلِ فِي السَّفَرِ عَلَى ظَهْرِ رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

Ibn 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say Nafl prayer on (the back of) his camel in whatever direction it took him.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي سُبْحَتَهُ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ نَاقَتُهُ

Ibn 'Umar reported that the Apostle ﷺ used to pray on (the back of) his camel in whatever direction it took him.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

'Abdullah b. Dinar reported on the authority of Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe prayer on his ride (no matter) in which direction it had its face turned. 'Abdullah b. Dinar said that Ibn 'Umar used to do like that.

أَنَّهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ

'Abdullah b. 'Amir b. Rabi'a has reported on the authority of his father that he had seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observing Nafl player at night on a journey on the back of his ride in whichever direction it turned its face.

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي السُّبْحَةَ بِاللَّيْلِ فِي السَّفَرِ عَلَى ظَهْرِ رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ

"The Prophet performed Salat towards his she-camel, or his mount, and he would perform Salat while on his mount, whichever direction it was facing."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى إِلَى بَعِيرِهِ أَوْ رَاحِلَتِهِ وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray on his mount while on a journey, no matter what direction it was facing." Malik said: "Abdullah bin Dinar said: 'And Ibn 'Umar used to do likewise.'"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ قَالَ مَالِكٌ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ

"The messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray atop his mount while travelling, facing whatever direction it was facing." (One of the narrators) Malik said: "Abdullah bin Dinar said: and Ibn Umar used to do likewise".

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ قَالَ مَالِكٌ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ used to pray Witr while riding his mount. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1201)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ «يُصَلِّي إِلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ»

Why do you put on the lower garment in this way? He replied: It is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4096)

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَأْكُلُهُ»

Ibn 'Umar reported that the Apostle ﷺ used to pray on (the back of) his camel in whatever direction it took him. (Using translation from Muslim 700b)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُتَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

Ibn 'Umar reported that the Apostle ﷺ used to pray on (the back of) his camel in whatever direction it took him. (Using translation from Muslim 700b)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

[AI] He used to pray where his riding animal had faced, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do it.

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ رَاحِلَتُهُ قَالَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُهُ

[AI] He used to pray on his mount wherever it turned, and he claimed that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do the same.

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ وَجَّهَتْ وَزَعَمَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to pray on his mount wherever it directed him.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

[AI] He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray on his mount during travel wherever it went.

أَنَّهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

[AI] Translation: He used to pray on his mount while traveling wherever it directed him, and he mentioned that the Prophetﷺ used to do the same while traveling.

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ وَذَكَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ فِي السَّفَرِ

Ibn 'Umar reported that the Apostle ﷺ used to pray on (the back of) his camel in whatever direction it took him. (Using translation from Muslim 700b)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

[AI] I saw Ibn Omar praying where his ride had turned and he would say, "The Messenger of Allah used to do it."

رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُصَلِّي حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ رَاحِلَتُهُ وَيَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُهُ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying his supererogatory prayer wherever his camel directed him.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي سُبْحَتَهُ حَيْثُتَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ نَاقَتُهُ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on his mount towards the east during the Battle of Anmar.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ فِي غَزْوَةِ أَنْمَارٍ

Narrated ʿAbdullah bin Amir that his father had told him that he had seen the Prophet ﷺ praying Nawafil at night on the back of his Mount on a journey, facing whatever direction it took. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1104)

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي السُّبْحَةِ بِاللَّيْلِ فِي السَّفَرِ عَلَى ظَهْرِ رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying the voluntary prayers on the back of his mount in every direction."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى ظَهْرِ رَاحِلَتِهِ النَّوَافِلَ فِي كُلِّ جِهَةٍ

[AI] "He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on his mount wherever it turned."

أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering a sermon on his ride on the day of sacrifice in Mina."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ بِمِنًى

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on a camel towards Sham."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى بَعِيرٍ نَحْوَ الشَّامِ

"We prayed with Abdullah bin Mas'ud in his house. He stood between us and we placed our hands on our knees, but he took them off and made us interlace our fingers, and said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do that.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1030)

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي نَعْلَيْهِ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , raising his hands when he started the prayer.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raise his hands when he began the prayer.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ.

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in a pair of patched sandals.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي نَعْلَيْنِ مَخْصُوفَيْنِ.

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prayed in the caravans."

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Pray the prayer at its prescribed time."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Dinar from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray on his mount while travelling, whichever way it was facing. Abdullah ibn Dinar said, "Abdullah ibn Umar would also do that."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ

"We prayed with Abdullah bin Mas'ud in his house. He stood between us and we placed our hands on our knees, but he took them off and made us interlace our fingers, and said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do that.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1030)

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُهُ

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying while sitting with crossed legs.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يُصَلِّي مُتَرَبِّعًا»

[AI] She said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying while seated."

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مُتَرَبِّعًا»

This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Aḥmad 1372)

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ

"We prayed with Abdullah bin Mas'ud in his house. He stood between us and we placed our hands on our knees, but he took them off and made us interlace our fingers, and said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do that.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1030)

وَقَالَ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُهُ»

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying towards his riding animal.

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي إِلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ»

[AI] He heard Ibn Umar say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray on his mount wherever it turned in the journey."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ»

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on a riding animal towards the east in the Battle of Anmar."

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَةٍ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ فِي غَزْوَةِ أَنْمَارٍ»

[AI] "I saw the messenger of Allah ﷺ praying like this."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي كَذَلِكَ»

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ التَّطَوُّعَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ بِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ

This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Aḥmad 1372)

وَقَالَ «هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي»

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in a single garment with its ends crossing each other. 'Isa b. Hammad added:" placing on his shoulders". (Using translation from Muslim 517d)

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ»

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in a khameesah.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصَلِّي فِي خَمِيصَةٍ»

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in a single woolen cloak.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصَلِّي فِي جُبَّةِ صُوفٍ وَحْدَهَا»

[AI] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrating in Sujood.

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَسْجُدُ فِي ص»

[AI] That he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on the camel he was riding.

أَنَّهُ «رَأَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْبَعِيرِ حَيْثُ تَوَجَّهَ بِهِ»

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dismounting when his camel stumbled."

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُهِلُّ حِينَ اسْتَوَتْ بِهِ رَاحِلَتُهُ»
