The Prophet ﷺ in his ailment in which he died, used to say, "O ʿAisha! I still feel the pain caused by the food I ate at Khaibar, and at this time, I feel as if my aorta is being cut from that poison."

عَائِشَةُ ؓ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا أَزَالُ أَجِدُ أَلَمَ الطَّعَامِ الَّذِي أَكَلْتُ بِخَيْبَرَ فَهَذَا أَوَانُ وَجَدْتُ انْقِطَاعَ أَبْهَرِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ السَّمِّ

[AI] Aisha used to say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say during the illness in which he passed away, 'O Aisha, I feel the pain of the food that I ate at Khaybar. This is the time when the aorta will be severed from that poison.'"

عُرْوَةُ كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ فِيهِ «يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنِّي أَجِدُ أَلَمَ الطَّعَامِ الَّذِي أَكَلْتُهُ بِخَيْبَرَ فَهَذَا أَوَانُ انْقِطَاعِ أَبْهَرِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ السُّمِّ»

[AI] Aisha said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say during the illness in which he passed away, 'Oh Aisha, I feel the pain of the food that I ate in Khaibar. This is the time when the aorta from that poison is being cut off.'"

"يَا عَائِشَةُ: مَا أَزَالُ أَجِدُ أَلمَ الطَّعَام الَّذِي أكَلتُ بِخَيْبَر، فَهَذَا أَوَانُ وَجَدْتُ انْقِطَاعَ أَبْهَرِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ السُّمِّ".
