Messenger of Allah ﷺ I said, "Not to wish to be the like of except two men: A man whom Allah has taught the Qur'an and he recites it during the hours of the night and during the hours of the day, and his neighbor listens to him and says, 'I wish I had been given what has been given to so-and-so, so that I might do what he does; and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it on what is just and right, whereupon an other man May say, 'I wish I had been given what so-and-so has been given, for then I would do what he does."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ حَسَدَ إِلاَّ فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ عَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهُوَ يَتْلُوهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ فَسَمِعَهُ جَارٌ لَهُ فَقَالَ لَيْتَنِي أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ فُلاَنٌ فَعَمِلْتُ مِثْلَ مَا يَعْمَلُ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَهْوَ يُهْلِكُهُ فِي الْحَقِّ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لَيْتَنِي أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ فُلاَنٌ فَعَمِلْتُ مِثْلَ مَا يَعْمَلُ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Not to wish to be the like except of two men. A man whom Allah has given the (knowledge of the) Qur'an and he recites it during the hours of night and day and the one who wishes says: If I were given the same as this (man) has been given, I would do what he does, and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the just and right way, in which case the one who wishes says, 'If I were given the same as he has been given, I would do what he does.' رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَحَاسُدَ إِلاَّ فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهْوَ يَتْلُوهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ يَقُولُ لَوْ أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ هَذَا لَفَعَلْتُ كَمَا يَفْعَلُ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالاً يُنْفِقُهُ فِي حَقِّهِ فَيَقُولُ لَوْ أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ لَفَعَلْتُ كَمَا يَفْعَلُ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ بِهَذَا

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Not to wish to be the like of except the like of two men: a man whom Allah has given the Qur'an and he recites it during the hours of the night and the hours of the day, in which case one may say, "If I were given the same as this man has been given, I would do the same as he is doing.' The other is a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the right way, in which case one may say, 'If I were given the same as he has been given, I would do the same as he is doing."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَحَاسُدَ إِلاَّ فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهْوَ يَتْلُوهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ فَهْوَ يَقُولُ لَوْ أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ هَذَا لَفَعَلْتُ كَمَا يَفْعَلُ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَهْوَ يُنْفِقُهُ فِي حَقِّهِ فَيَقُولُ لَوْ أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ عَمِلْتُ فِيهِ مِثْلَ مَا يَعْمَلُ

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "There is no envy except in two cases: a man whom Allah has given the Quran and he recites it day and night, and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the way of truth." Then a man heard this and said, "Oh, how I wish I had been given the same as he was given so that I could do the same as he does."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ أَعْطَاهُ اللهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهُوَ يَتْلُوهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ فَسَمِعَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا لَيْتَنِي أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ هَذَا فَعَمِلْتُ فِيهِ مِثْلَ مَا يَعْمَلُ فِيهِ هَذَا وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللهُ مَالًا فَهُوَ يُهْلِكُهُ فِي الْحَقِّ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا لَيْتَنِي أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ هَذَا فَعَمِلْتُ فِيهِ مِثْلَ مَا يَعْمَلُ فِيهِ هَذَا

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ عَلَّمَهُ اللهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهُوَ يَتْلُوهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ فَسَمِعَهُ جَارٌ لَهُ فَقَالَ لَيْتَنِي أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ فُلَانٌ فَعَمِلْتُ مِثْلَ مَا يَعْمَلُ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللهُ مَالًا فَهُوَ يُهْلِكُهُ فِي الْحَقِّ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا لَيْتَنِي أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ الَّذِي أُوتِيَ فُلَانٌ فَعَمِلْتُ مِثْلَ مَا يَعْمَلُ

"لاَ حَسَدَ إِلَّا في اثْنَتَيْنِ: رَجُلٌ عَلَّمَهُ الله الْقُرآنَ، فَهُوَ يَتْلُوهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ، فَسَمِعَهُ جَارٌ له فَقَالَ: لَيتَنِى أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِىَ فُلاَنٌ، فَعَمِلْتُ مِثْلَ مَا

يَعْمَلُ، وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ الله مَالًا، فَهُوَ يُهْلِكُهُ في الْحَقِّ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: لَيْتَنِى أُوتِيتُ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتىَ فُلاَنٌ فَعَمِلْتُ مِثْلَ مَا يَعْمَلُ".
