قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ مَقَامَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ نَمْنَعُكَ مِمَّا نَمْنَعُ مِنْهُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَأَوْلادَنَا فَمَا لَنَا قَالَ الْجَنَّةَ قال رضينا
[Machine] Thabit bin Qais gave a sermon at the house of the Prophet in Medina and said, "We will prevent you from what we prevent ourselves and our children from. What is there for us?" The Prophet said, "Paradise." They replied, "We are satisfied with this on the condition of the two sheikhs (referring to Bukhari and Muslim) and they did not reject it."
خَطَبَ ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عِنْدَ مَقْدَمِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ فَقَالَ نَمْنَعُكَ مِمَّا نَمْنَعُ مِنْهُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَأَوْلَادَنَا فَمَا لَنَا؟ قَالَ «الْجَنَّةُ» قَالَ رَضِينَا «صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرط البخاري ومسلم
[Machine] Thabit bin Qais bin Shammash, the envoy of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, delivered a speech in Medina and said, "We prevent you from what we prevent ourselves and our children, so what is for us?" He replied, "Paradise." They said, "We are satisfied."
