"Shall I not inform you of the best of your leaders and the worst of them: The best of them are those whom you love and they love you, you supplicate for them, and they supplicate for you. And the evilest of your leaders are those who hate you, and you hate them, and they curse you and you curse them."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَلاَ أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخِيَارِ أُمَرَائِكُمْ وَشِرَارِهِمْ خِيَارُهُمُ الَّذِينَ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتَدْعُونَ لَهُمْ وَيَدْعُونَ لَكُمْ وَشِرَارُ أُمَرَائِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُبْغِضُونَهُمْ وَيُبْغِضُونَكُمْ وَتَلْعَنُونَهُمْ وَيَلْعَنُونَكُمْ

The best of your rulers are those whom you love and who love you, who invoke God's blessings upon you and you invoke His blessings upon them. And the worst of your rulers are those whom you hate and who hate you and whom you curse and who curse you. It was asked (by those present): Shouldn't we overthrow them with the help of the sword? He said: No, as long as they establish prayer among you. If you then find anything detestable in them. You should hate their administration, but do not withdraw yourselves from their obedience. عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ خِيَارُكُمْ وَخِيَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَشِرَارُكُمْ وَشِرَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُبْغِضُونَهُمْ وَيُبْغِضُونَكُمْ وَتَلْعَنُونَهُمْ وَيَلْعَنُونَكُمْ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفَلَا نُقَاتِلُهُمْ؟ قَالَ لَا مَا صَلَّوْا لَكُمُ الْخَمْسَ أَلَا وَمَنْ عَلَيْهِ وَالٍ فَرَآهُ يَأْتِي شَيْئًا مِنْ مَعَاصِي اللهِ فَلْيَكْرَهْ مَا أَتَى وَلَا تَنْزِعُوا يَدًا مِنْ طَاعَتِهِ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The best among your leaders are those whom you love and they love you, and for whom you supplicate to Allah, and they supplicate for you. And the worst among your leaders are those whom you hate and they hate you, and for whom you curse and they curse you." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, should we not confront them?" He said, "No, as long as they establish prayer among you. So, if you see from your leader something that you dislike, then dislike his actions but do not withdraw your hand from obedience."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «خِيَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتَدَعُونَ اللهَ لَهُمْ وَيَدْعُونَ اللهَ لَكُمْ وَشِرَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُبْغِضُونَهُمْ وَيُبْغِضُونَكُمْ وَتَلْعَنُونَهُمْ وَيَلْعَنُونَكُمْ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفَلَا نُنَابِذُهُمْ؟ قَالَ «لَا مَا أَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ فِيكُمْ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مِنْ وَالِيكُمْ شَيْئًا تَكْرَهُونَهُ فَاكْرَهُوا عَمَلَهُ وَلَا تَنْزِعُوا يَدًا مِنْ طَاعَةٍ»

"أَلا أُخْبرُكُمْ بخيار أُمَرَائكُمْ وشرارهم، خِيَارُهُم الَّذين تُحِبُّونَهُمْ ويُحبُّونكم، وتدعونَ لَهُمْ ويدعونَ لكم، وشرارُ أُمَرائكم الَّذين تبغضونهُم ويبغضونكم وتَلْعَنُونَهُمْ، ويلعنونكم".
