˹Gabriel said˺, "And we ˹angels˺ descend not except by the order of your Lord. To Him belongs that before us and that behind us and what is in between. And never is your Lord forgetful -  

وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked Gabriel, "Why don't you visit us more often than you do?" Then the following Holy Verse was revealed (in this respect):-- "And we (angels) descend not but by the order of your Lord. To Him belong what is before us and what is behind us, and what is between those two and your Lord was never forgetful." (19.64)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِجِبْرِيلَ أَلاَ تَزُورُنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ {وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلاَّ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا} الآيَةَ  

The Prophet ﷺ said to Gabriel, "What prevents you from visiting us more often than you visit us now?" So there was revealed:-- 'And we (angels) descend not but by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us...'(19.64)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِجِبْرِيلَ مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا فَنَزَلَتْ {وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلاَّ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا}  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Gabriel, what prevents you. from visiting us more often than you do?" Then this Verse was revealed:--'And we angels descend not but by Command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us..' (19.64) So this was the answer to Muhammad.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَا جِبْرِيلُ مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا فَنَزَلَتْ {وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلاَّ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا} إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ قَالَ هَذَا كَانَ الْجَوَابَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ  

from Ibn 'Abbas who said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Jibra'il: 'What prevents you from visiting us more than you visit us?'" He said: "So this Ayah was revealed: And we descend not except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us." Up to the end of the Ayah (19:64).  

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِجِبْرِيلَ مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ (ومَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلاَّ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا ) إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ ذَرٍّ نَحْوَهُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Jibril, "Why do you not visit us more than you do?" He replied, "So Allah revealed, 'We do not descend except by the command of your Lord'." (Surah Maryam, verse 64) until the end of the verse.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِجِبْرِيلَ مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ {وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ} [مريم 64] إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ  

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said to Gabriel: "Won't you visit us more often than you do?" So this verse was revealed: "And We do not descend except by the order of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us." [Maryam 64] until the end of the verse.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِجِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ أَلا تَزُورُنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا؟ فَنَزَلَتْ {وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا} [مريم 64] إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Jibril: "What prevents you from visiting us more often than you do?" So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: "And We do not descend except by the order of your Lord. To Him belongs whatever is before us and whatever is behind us and whatever is between that. And your Lord is never forgetful." (Surah Maryam, verse 64)  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِجِبْرِيلَ «مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا؟» فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ﷻ {وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ} [مريم 64] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا} [مريم 64]  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Gabriel, "What prevents you from visiting us more than you do?" So the following verse was revealed, "And We do not descend except by the order of your Lord."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِجِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ «مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورُنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا؟» فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ}  

[Machine] "Muhammad, indeed the Prophet ﷺ said, and Ibrahim said, indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Jibril, 'What prevents you from visiting us more than you visit us?' So the verse was revealed: 'And we do not come down except by the command of your Lord.' [Surah Maryam 64] Muhammad said the verse."  

مُحَمَّدٌ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِجِبْرِيلَ «مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا؟» فَنَزَلَتْ {وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ} [مريم 64] قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ الْآيَةَ
