a Jewish woman came to her and asked her to give her something, so 'Aishah gave her something, and she said: "May Allah protect you from the torment of the grave." 'Aishah said:" She made me worried, until the Messenger of Allah came and I mentioned that to him. He said: 'They are tormented in their graves with a torment that the animals hear."' [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me while I was in a room among the burial grounds of Banu Najjar. There were some individuals among them who had passed away during the time of ignorance, and I heard them being punished. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then left and while he was leaving, he said, "Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, do they really get punished in their graves?" He replied, "Yes, a punishment that is heard by all creatures."

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ entered upon me while I was in a wall of the houses of Bani Najjar, in which there were graves. He was saying, "Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave." So, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is there punishment in the grave?" He said, "Yes, indeed they are punished in their graves, and the animals can hear it."

" عَنْ عَامِر، عَنْ أُمِّ مُبَشِّر قَالَت: دَخَلَ عَلَىَّ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ وَأَنَا فِى حَائِطٍ مَنْ حَوَائِطِ بَنِى النَجَّار، فِيهِ قُبُور مِنْهُم قَدْ مَاتُوا فِى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَخَرَجَ فَسَمِعْتهُ وَهُو يَقُولُ: اسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبر، قُلْتُ يَا رَسُول اللَّهِ: لِلقَبْرِ عَذَابٌ؟ فَقَالَ: إنَّهُمْ لَيُعَذَّبُونَ فِى قُبُورِهمْ عَذَابًا لَتَسْمَعهُ الْبَهَائِمُ".
