Abu Hurayra said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Messenger of Allah, invoke a curse for us against the idolaters.' He replied, 'I was not sent as a curser. I was sent as a mercy.'"
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ادْعُ اللَّهَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَمْ أُبْعَثْ لَعَّانًا وَلَكِنْ بُعِثْتُ رَحْمَةً
Invoke curse upon the polytheists, whereupon he said: I have not been sent as the invoker of curse, but I have been sent as mercy."
قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ادْعُ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَمْ أُبْعَثْ لَعَّانًا وَإِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ رَحْمَةً
قال قيل يا رسول الله ألا تدعو على المشركين قال إنما بعثت رحمة ولم أبعث عذاباوَهَذَا الحديثُ لاَ نَعْلَمْهُ يُرْوَى بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إلاَّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ بهذا الإِسْنَاد
