"Once the Prophet ﷺ offered five rakʿat in Zuhr prayer. He was asked, "Is there an increase in the prayer?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "And what is it?" They said, "You have prayed five rakʿat.' So he bent his legs and performed two prostrations (of Sahu).

صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَقَالُوا أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالُوا صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا فَثَنَى رِجْلَيْهِ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ

Once Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered five rakʿat in the Zuhr prayer, and somebody asked him whether there was some increase in the prayer. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What is that?" He said, "You have offered five rakʿat." So Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed two prostrations of Sahu after Taslim.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالَ صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ

The Prophet ﷺ led us in Zuhr prayer and prayer five rakʿat. Somebody asked him whether the prayer had been increased." He (the Prophet ﷺ ) said, "And what is that?" They (the people) replied, "You have prayed five rakʿat." Then the Prophet ﷺ offered two prostrations (of Sahu) after he had finished his prayer with the Taslim.

صَلَّى بِنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَقِيلَ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالُوا صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ

The Apostle of Allah ﷺ said five rak'ahs of the noon prayer and when he completed the prayer, It was said to him: Has there been (commanded) an addition In prayer? He said: What is it? They said: You have said five rak'ahs, so he performed two prostrations.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قِيلَ لَهُ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالُوا صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us five (rak'ahs in prayer). We said: Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been extended? He said: What is the matter? They said: You have said five (rak'ahs). He (the Holy Prophet) said: Verily I am a human being like you. I remember as you remember and I forget just as you forget. He then performed two prostrations as (compensation of) forgetfulness.

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَمْسًا فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالُوا صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ أَذْكُرُ كَمَا تَذْكُرُونَ وَأَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed five rak’ahs in the noon prayer. He was asked whether the prayer had been extended. He asked what they meant by that. The people said : you prayed five rak’ahs. Then he made two prostrations after having given the salutation.

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالَ صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ

Messenger of Allah, has (the number of the rak’ahs of) the prayer been increased ? he said : No. they said; you have offered five rak’ahs of prayer. He then turned away and performed two prostrations, and afterwards gave the salutation. He then said : I am only a human being, I forget, as you forget.

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَمْسًا فَلَمَّا انْفَتَلَ تَوَشْوَشَ الْقَوْمُ بَيْنَهُمْ فَقَالَ مَا شَأْنُكُمْ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ زِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ قَالَ لاَ قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا فَانْفَتَلَ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ أَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ

"The Prophet (S) prayed five (Rakah) for Zuhr, so it was said to him: 'Has the prayer been added to, or have you merely forgotten?' So he (S) performed two prostrations after he had said the Salam."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ

"The Prophet ﷺ prayed Zuhr with five rak'ahs, and it was said to him: 'Has something been added to the prayer?' He said: 'Why are you asking?' They said: 'You prayed five.' So he turned around and prostrated twice."

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered one of the afternoon prayers with five (rak'ahs), and it was said to him: "Has something been added to the prayer?" He said: 'Why are you asking?' They said: 'You prayed five.' He said: 'I am only human, I forget as you forget, and I remember as you remember.' Then he prostrated twice then ended his prayer.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلَّى إِحْدَى صَلاَتَىِ الْعَشِيِّ خَمْسًا فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالُوا صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ أَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ وَأَذْكُرُ كَمَا تَذْكُرُونَ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ انْفَتَلَ

“(Once) the Prophet ﷺ prayed Zuhr with five Rak’ah, and it was said to him: ‘Has something been added to the prayer?’ He said: ‘What is that?’ They told him, and he turned back towards the Qiblah and performed two prostrations.”

صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ؟ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَثَنَى رِجْلَهُ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ خَمْسًا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَاتَانِ السَّجْدَتَانِ لِمَنْ ظَنَّ مِنْكُمْ أَنَّهُ زَادَ أَوْ نَقَصَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed five prayers, either Dhuhr or Asr. When he finished, someone said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, should I increase in prayer?" He said, "No." They said, "But you prayed five prayers." He said, "So he made two prostrations of forgetfulness, then he said, 'I am only a human being, I remember just as you remember and I forget just as you forget.'"

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَمْسًا الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قِيلَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ؟ قَالَ لَا قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا؟ قَالَ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ أَذْكُرُ كَمَا تَذْكُرُونَ وَأَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allahﷺ prayed Dhuhr or Asr, then he performed two prostrations and said, "These two prostrations are for whoever among you thought that they added or missed something."

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ , it was narrated that he performed the noon prayer (Dhuhr) five times. It was then said to him, "Should we increase in the prayer?" The Prophet ﷺ asked, "What is that?" They replied, "You performed five prayer units (rakahs) for Dhuhr." He then performed two prostrations after finishing the prayer (sujood sahw). Shu'bah said, "I heard Sulayman and Hammad narrating that Ibrahim did not know whether he performed three or five units for Dhuhr prayer."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَقِيلَلَهُ أَزِيدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكَ صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَسَمِعْتُ سُلَيْمَانَ وَحَمَّادًا يُحَدِّثَانِ أَنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَانَ لَا يَدْرِي أَثَلَاثًا صَلَّى أَمْ خَمْسًا

[AI] About the Prophetﷺ that he prayed the noon prayer (Dhuhr) as five units. It was said to him, "Is there anything extra in the prayer?" The Prophetﷺ said, "What is that?" They said, "You prayed five units." Then he performed two additional prostrations after the prayer.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا فَقِيلَ زِيدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شَيْءٌ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ » قَالُوا إِنَّكَ صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَمَا سَلَّمَ

"صَلَّى النَّبِىُّ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا، فَقيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّكَ صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا، فَسَجَدَ سَجْدتَيْنِ بَعْدَمَا سَلَّمَ".

"صَلَّى النَّبِىُّ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ خَمْسًا ثُم سَجدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْو، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : هَاتَان السَّجْدَتَان، لِمَنْ ظَن أَنَّهُ زَادَ مِنْكُمْ أَوْ نَقْصَ".
