When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ urinated, he performed ablution and sprinkled water on private parts of the body. Abu Dawud said: A group of scholars agreed with Sufyan upon this chain of narrators. Some have mentioned the name of Sufyan b. al-Hakam, and others al-Hakam b. Sufyan.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا بَالَ يَتَوَضَّأُ وَيَنْتَضِحُ

the Prophet would go through his beard."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُخَلِّلُ لِحْيَتَهُ

Messenger of Allah said: "When performing Wudu go between the fingers of your hands and (toes of) your feet."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَخَلِّلْ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِ يَدَيْكَ وَرِجْلَيْكَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When you perform Wudu', do so properly, and wash in between the fingers (Al-Asabi')."[2] [1] Al-Asabi' is plural meaning fingers as well as toes, and the author mentioned only one narration on the topic whereas some of them clarify "of the hands and feet." So he mentioned the general wording amids chapters how to wash the feet. [2] Part of this narration preceded under No. 87.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَأَسْبِغِ الْوُضُوءَ وَخَلِّلْ بَيْنَ الأَصَابِعِ

"I saw the Messenger of Allah running his fingers through his beard."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُخَلِّلُ لِحْيَتَهُ

The Messenger of Allah performed ablution and ran his fingers through his beard.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ فَخَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ

"When the Messenger of Allah performed ablution, he ran his fingers through his beard and separated his fingers (to let water run through them) twice."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ وَفَرَّجَ أَصَابِعَهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ

"I saw the Messenger of Allah performing ablution and he ran his fingers through his beard."

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ فَخَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ

[AI] I came to the Prophet ﷺ , and he said, "When you perform ablution, separate your fingers."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَخَلِّلِ الْأَصَابِعَ

The Messenger of Allah said to me: 'When you perform ablution, clean your nose, and when you use pebbles to clean yourself after defecating, use an odd number.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 406)

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَانْثِرْ وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرْتَ فَأَوْتِرْ

[AI] The translation of the passage into English is as follows: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution, he would rinse his mouth and wipe his beard from underneath with water.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ تَمَضْمَضَ وَمَسَحَ لِحْيَتَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا بِالْمَاءِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would perform ablution, then he would kiss, pray, and not perform ablution again.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ ثُمَّ يُقَبِّلُ وَيُصَلِّي وَلَا يَتَوَضَّأُ

[AI] The translation of the passage is:

"When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered his house, he would start with using a toothstick."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ بَدَأَ بِالسِّوَاكِ

[AI] The translation of the passage is: "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution after leaving the restroom."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنَ الْخَلَاءِ تَوَضَّأَ

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wet his beard with water when performing ablution.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالْمَاءِ

[AI] The translation of the passage "كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالْمَاءِ" into English is:

"The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to wet his beard with water when performing ablution."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَجْنَبَ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ تَوَضَّأَ

[AI] I saw the Prophet ﷺ performing ablution and trimming his beard, and he said, "My Lord commanded me to do this."

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «تَوَضَّأَ وَخَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ» وَقَالَ «بِهَذَا أَمَرَنِي رَبِّي»

[AI] The translation of the given text is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to clean his beard when he performed ablution, and this is a valid evidence for wiping the inner parts of the ears."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ» «وَهَذَا شَاهِدٌ صَحِيحٌ فِي مَسْحِ بَاطِنِ الْأُذُنَيْنِ»

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا بَالَ تَوَضَّأَ وَيَنْتَضِحُ»

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ يَبْدَأُ بِالسِّوَاكِ»

[AI] The messenger of Allah, ﷺ , had abundant hair and beard.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كَثَّ الشَّعْرِ وَاللِّحْيَةِ»

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he performed ablution, he preferred water to the extent that he let it flow over the place of his prostration."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ فَضَّلَ مَاءً حَتَّى يُسِيلَهُ عَلَى مَوْضِعِ سُجُودِهِ»

[AI] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution, he used to pour water on his private parts."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ» إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ يَنْضَحُ حِيَالَ فَرْجِهِ بِالْمَاءِ

“Zaid bin Arqan used to say the Takbir four times in the funeral prayer, and he said the Takbir five times for one funeral. I asked him (about that) and he said: ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do that.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1505)

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُكَبِّرُهَا»

The Messenger of Allah said to me: 'When you perform ablution, clean your nose, and when you use pebbles to clean yourself after defecating, use an odd number.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 406)

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he performed ablution, he started rubbing his feet with his pinky finger."

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ» إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ أَصَابِعَ رِجْلَيْهِ بِخِنْصَرِهِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to "comb his beard when he performed ablution."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ «إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sit for a little while after saying the salaam.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا سَلَّمَ مَكَثَ قَلِيلًا»

"إذَا توضَّأتَ فخلِّلْ الأصابعَ".

Messenger of Allah said: "When performing Wudu go between the fingers of your hands and (toes of) your feet." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 39)

"إذَا توضَّأتَ فخلِّل أصابعَ يديكَ ورجْلَيكَ".

" كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ ".

"عَنِ نَافِعٍ قَالَ: كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُخَلَّلُ لِحْيَتَهُ وَأصَابِعَهُ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ".
