هِنْدُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ الْخَثْعَمِيَّةُ أُمُّ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited al-Abbas while he was sick, and al-Abbas wished for death. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O uncle, do not wish for death, for if you are righteous, then delaying it will increase your righteousness, and if you are sinful, then delaying it will give you the chance to repent from your sins. So do not wish for death."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَى الْعَبَّاسِ وَهُوَ شَاكٌّ فَتَمَنَّى الْعَبَّاسُ الْمَوْتَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا عَمُّ لَا تَتَمَنَّ الْمَوْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ كُنْتَ مُحْسِنًا فَأِنْ تُؤَخِّرُ تَزْدَادُ حُسْنًا إِلَى إِحْسَانِكَ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ مُسِيئًا فَإِنْ تُؤَخِّرُ تَسْتَعْتِبُ مِنْ إِسَاءَتِكَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ فَلَا تَتَمَنَّ الْمَوْتَ»
