The Prophet ﷺ said, "No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah)." Then some companions of the Prophet ﷺ said, "Not even Jihad?" He replied, "Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah's sake) and does not return with any of those things."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَا الْعَمَلُ فِي أَيَّامِ الْعَشْرِ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ فِي هَذِهِ۔» [يعني: أَيامَ العشرِ] قَالُوا: وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ؟ قَالَ: «وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ يُخَاطِرُ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ بِشَىْءٍ۔»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: There is no virtue more to the liking of Allah in any day than in these days, that is, the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah. They (the Companions) asked: Messenger of Allah, not even the struggle in the path of Allah (Jihad) ? He said: (Yes), not even the struggle in the path of Allah, except a man who goes out (in the path of Allah) with his life and property, and does not return with any of them.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَىْءٍ

the Messenger of Allah said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than those ten days." They said: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even Jihad in Allah Cause?" The Messenger of Allah said: "Not even Jihad in Allah's Cause, unless a man were to out with his self and his wealth and not return from that with anything."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهِنَّ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ الْعَشْرِ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ

“There are no days during which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days,” meaning the (first) ten days of Dhul- Hijjah. They said: “O Messenger of Allah! Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?” He said: “Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, unless a man goes out with himself and his wealth and does not bring anything back.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ يَعْنِي الْعَشْرَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلاَّ رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَىْءٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days." It was said, "Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?" He replied, "Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, except for the one who goes out with his life and wealth and does not return with any of it, until his blood is shed." I met Habib ibn Abi Thabit and asked him about this Hadith. He narrated a similar Hadith to me. Abdullah ibn Abbas said, "These are the ten days."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ الْعَمَلُ فِيهِنَّ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ قِيلَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ؟ قَالَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ إِلَّا مَنْ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ حَتَّى تُهَرَاقَ مُهْجَةُ دَمِهِ

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "There is no deed superior to him in these days," meaning the ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah). It was said: "Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?" He said: "Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, except for the one who sets out with his self and his wealth and does not return with anything from it."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَا عَمَلٌ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ قَالَ فَقِيلَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ؟ قَالَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ إِلَّا مَنْ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no deed that is better in the sight of Allah than the deeds performed during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah." It was asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He ﷺ replied, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a person goes out with his life and wealth and does not return with anything."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا الْعَمَلُ فِي أَيَّامٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ فِي عَشْرِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ» قِيلَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ بِشَيْءٍ»

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "There is no deed more pure in the sight of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and no deed more deserving of rewards than a good deed performed during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah." It was asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He replied, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except for a man who went out with himself and his wealth and did not return with anything." It is reported that Sa'eed ibn Jubayr would exert extreme effort and strive his best during the ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah) to the extent that he could barely manage it.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا مِنْ عَمَلٍ أَزْكَى عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ﷻ وَلَا أَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا مِنْ خَيْرٍ يَعْمَلُهُ فِي عَشْرِ الْأَضْحَى» قِيلَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ «وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ» قَالَ وَكَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَيَّامُ الْعَشْرِ اجْتَهَدَ اجْتِهَادًا شَدِيدًا حَتَّى مَا يَكَادُ يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are no days in which good deeds are more beloved to Allah or in which the good deed is better than the ten days." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, not even jihad?" He said, "Not even jihad, except for a man who goes out with himself and his wealth and does not return with anything."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ فِيهِنَّ الْعَمَلُ أَوْ قَالَ أَفْضَلُ فِيهِنَّ الْعَمَلُ مِنْ أَيَّامِ الْعَشْرِ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ؟ قَالَ «وَلَا الْجِهَادُ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فَلَا يَرْجِعُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ»

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet, ﷺ , "There are no deeds during the ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah that are more beloved to Allah than performing Jihad in His cause, except for a man who goes out with his life and his wealth and does not return with anything from that."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا الْعَمَلُ فِي أَيَّامٍ أَفْضَلُ مِنْهُ فِي عَشْرِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ قَالَ «وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَخْرُجَ رَجُلٌ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ ثُمَّ لَا يَرْجِعُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ»

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: "What is the best action in the sight of Allah during the ten days of Dhul Hijjah?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the cause of Allah?" He said, "Not even Jihad in the cause of Allah, except for a man who goes out with himself and his wealth in the cause of Allah and does not return with anything." This is the wording of the narration of Shu'bah, and in the narration of Abu Mu'awiyah it is stated: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days," meaning the ten days, and the remaining part is the same in meaning.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا الْعَمَلُ فِي أَيَّامٍ أَفْضَلَ مِنْهُ فِي عَشْرِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ قَالَ وَلَا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ثُمَّ لَا يَرْجِعُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِشَيْءٍ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ وَالْبَاقِي بِمَعْنَاهُ

"مَا مِنْ عمَلٍ أَزكى عِنْدَ اللهِ -تَعالى- وَلا أَعْظَمَ أَجْرًا مِنْ خيرٍ يعْمَلُهُ فِي عشْرِ الأَضْحَى، قِيل: ولا الجِهَادُ فِي سبِيلِ اللهِ؟ قَال: وَلا الجِهادُ فِي سَبيلِ اللهِ إلَّا رجُلٌ خرجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمالِهِ فلَمْ يَرْجع مِنْ ذلِكَ بِشىْء".

"مَا مِنْ عَمَلٍ أَحَب إِلى اللهِ مِنْ عَمَل فِي العَشْرِ، قِيلَ: وَلا الجِهادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ؟ إلّا مَنْ خَرَج بِنَفْسِهِ وَمالِهِ وَجَوادِهِ فلَمْ يرْجعْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بشَيْءٍ" (*).

"مَا الْعَمَلُ في أيَّامٍ أَفْضَلُ مِنْهُ في عَشْرِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ، قَالُوا: ولا الجِهَادُ في سَبِيلِ اللهِ؟ قال: ولا الْجِهَادُ في سَبِيلِ اللهِ إلا رَجُلٌ خَرجَ يُخَاطِرُ نَفْسَهُ وَمَالهُ، فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ بِشَيْءٍ".

"مَا مِنْ أيَّامٍ العَمَلُ الصالِح فِيهِنَّ أحَبّ إِلى اللهِ من عَشْرِ ذي الحجة. قَالوا: وَلَا الجِهَادُ في سَبيل اللهِ؟ قَال: وَلَا الجهَادُ في سبيل الله إلا رجل خرجَ بِنَفْسِه وَمَالِهِ فَلَمْ يَرجِع من ذَلِك بِشَيءٍ".

"مَا مِنْ أيَّامٍ العَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فيهَا أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ مِنْ هَذهِ الأيام -يَعْنِي أيامَ العَشْرِ- قَالُوا: يَا رَسُول اللهِ، وَلا الجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ الله؟ قَال: وَلا الجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيل اللهِ، إِلا رَجُل خَرَجَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْجعْ مِنْ ذَلكَ بشَىْءٍ".

"مَا مِنْ أَيَّام العَمَلُ فِيهنَّ أَفْضَل مِنْ أيَّام العَشْرِ، قِيلَ: وَلا الجِهَادُ في سبيلِ اللهِ؟ قَال: وَلا الجِهَادُ في سَبِيلِ اللهِ إِلا مَن عُقِر جَوَادُه وَأهْرِيقَ دَمُه".

"مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ العَمَلُ فِيهِنَّ مِنْ هذهِ الأيَّامِ، قِيلَ: وَلا الجِهَادُ في سَبِيلِ اللهِ؟ قَال: وَلا الجِهَادُ في سَبِيل اللهِ إلَّا مَنْ خَرَج بِنَفْسِه وَمَاله، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ حَتَّى يُهْرَاق دَمُه".

"مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أَفْضَلُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ أيَّام عَشْرِ ذِي الحِجَّةِ، قَالُوا: يَا نبِيَّ اللهِ، وَلا مِثْلُها في سَبِيلِ الله؟ قَال: ولا مثْلُهَا في سَبيلِ الله إِلا من عَفَّر وَجْهَهُ في التُّراب".

"عَن ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: مَا مِنْ عَمَلٍ أَزْكَى عِنْدَ اللهِ، وَلا أَعْظَم مَنْزِلَةً مِنْ خَيْرٍ يُعْمَل فِى الْعَشْرِ مِنَ الأَضْحَى، قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ! وَلا مَنْ جَاهَدَ فِى سَبِيلِ اللهِ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ؟ قَالَ: وَلا مَنْ جَاهَدَ فِى سَبِيلِ اللهِ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ إِلا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ بِنَفْسِهِ وَلا بِمَالِهِ".
