51. Chapter of Lām (Female)
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I see that everything is mentioned only for men." So Allah revealed the verse, "Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women..."
[Machine] About Maymunah, who is not the wife of the Prophet Muhammad, may ﷺ . It is said that she said, "O Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , inform us about the virtues of the blessed land of Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem)." The Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , replied, "The land of Al-Mahshar (gathering) and Al-Manshar (resurrection) should be visited and prayed in. For verily, prayer in it is like a thousand prayers." Maymunah then asked, "What about those who are unable to bear the journey?" He replied, "Then they should send oil to be used in its lamps. Whoever sends oil for this purpose will receive the same reward as if they had prayed in it."
[Machine] About Maymuna, the Prophet's freed slave, she said: "O Messenger of Allah, should we seek permission to enter Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa and pray in it?" He said, "Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa is the land of gathering and resurrection, go and pray in it, for indeed praying one prayer in it is equal to a thousand prayers." She said, "What if we are unable to speak (to seek permission) or reach it?" He said, "Send oil to it and use it for lighting, for whoever provides oil for it, it will be as if they have prayed in it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a man who kissed his wife while they were both fasting, he said, "They have broken their fast."
[Machine] Narrated by Maymunah bint Sa'd, the freed slave woman of the Prophet ﷺ , that the Prophet ﷺ was asked about the child born out of wedlock, and he said, "There is no goodness in them. Two sandals that I use in fighting are dearer to me than freeing a child born out of wedlock."
[Machine] She said, "O Messenger of Allah, advise us about a person who forgets to pray until the sun rises or sets, what should be done to atone for it?" He said, "If he remembers it, then let him pray it and perfect his prayer, and let him perform ablution and perfect his ablution, for that will be his atonement."
[Machine] She said: "O Messenger of Allah, advise us about fasting." He said: "From every month, fast three days, for whoever can fast them. For indeed, every day will expiate ten evil deeds, and it cleanses from sin as water cleanses a garment."
[Machine] She said, "Advise us, O Messenger of Allah, regarding theft." He said, "Whoever consumes stolen property while knowing that it is stolen shares in the sin of the thief."
[Machine] "It is a barrier of fire for those who seek the countenance of Allah with it."
[Machine] She said, "O Messenger of Allah, give us a verdict regarding the dog." He said, "A dog's saliva is impure and Allah has provided us with alternatives."
[Machine] She (the woman) said, "O Messenger of Allah, enlighten us about performing ghusl (ritual purification) from janabah (major impurity)." He (the Prophet) said, "You should pour water on the roots of your hair and cleanse your skin. Surely, those who do not perform ghusl properly are like a tree that has been touched by water, but its leaves do not grow and its roots do not become moist. So, fear Allah and perform ghusl properly, for indeed it is part of the trust that you have been entrusted with and the secrets that have been entrusted to you." She (the woman) said, "I asked, 'How much water is sufficient for washing the head, O Messenger of Allah?' He (the Prophet) said, 'Three handfuls.'"
[Machine] I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, can one of us eat while in a state of major ritual impurity?" He replied, "No, one cannot eat until he performs ablution." She then said, "I asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, can one sleep while in a state of major ritual impurity?' He said, 'I do not like sleeping while in a state of major ritual impurity until one performs ablution and perfects his ablution. Indeed, I fear that the soul will be taken away while in that state and Jibril (Angel Gabriel) ﷺ will not be present."
[Machine] She said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform us about the Friday prayer." He said, "In it, there is an hour where the servant does not supplicate to his Lord except that He answers him." I asked, "Which hour is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "It is when the imam stands up [to deliver the sermon]."
[Machine] She said, "Advise us, O Messenger of Allah, concerning a man who becomes confused in his prayer and does not know how many cycles he has prayed?" He replied, "Let him leave and then start his prayer again until he knows how many cycles he has prayed, as this is only a whispering that is presented to him in order to distract him from his prayer."
[Machine] She asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the punishment of the grave?" He said, "From the traces of urine. So whoever is affected by urine, let him wash it off, and if he does not find water, let him wipe it with a clean surface (soil)."
[Machine] She said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about someone who does not go out for battle but spends his wealth for those who fight? Does he also receive a reward or only the fighter?" The Prophet replied, "He will receive the reward for his wealth, and the fighter will receive the reward for what is attributed to him from that."
“The parable of the woman who walks to impress others in adornments for other than her family, is that of darkness on the Day of Judgment: There is no light for her.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1167)
