24. Chapter of Lām (Male)
[Machine] I saw Lubayy ibn Labba al-Asadi, who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ or had met the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . He had a horse that he adorned with a luxurious saddle, and I saw him wearing a garment made of wool or silk.
[Machine] "I have not filled my stomach with food since I embraced Islam with the Prophet. I eat according to my sufficiency and drink according to my sufficiency." Al-Ala' said, "He means my sustenance."
[Machine] He told him that he was sitting in the market when a woman carrying a baby passed by. The people became excited and I became curious, so we went to the Prophet ﷺ and he was saying, "Who is this baby's father with you?" She remained silent, so a young man said, "Her shoes are mine, O Messenger of Allah. I am her father." The Prophet ﷺ approached her and said, "Who is this baby's father with you?" She remained silent, then the young man said, "O Messenger of Allah, she is a young girl, newly married, and she does not speak to you. I am her father." The Prophet ﷺ looked at some of his companions as if he was asking them about him, and they said, "We only know good about him, or something like that." The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Did you marry her for protection?" He said, "Yes." The Prophet ﷺ ordered him to be stoned, so we took him out and dug a hole for him until he was buried up to his chest, then we stoned him with stones until he calmed down, and then we left to our gatherings. While we were like this, a sheikh came asking about the stoned man, so we stood up and took hold of him and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ. We said, "O Messenger of Allah, this man came asking about filth." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How sweet is he to Allah than the smell of musk." We left with the sheikh, and there was his father, so we went to him and helped him with his washing, shrouding, and burial. He said, "And I do not know whether the prayer was performed for him or not."
[Machine] We were young men working in the market when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded for a man to be stoned. Then a man came to us and asked us about him, so we brought him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . We said, "O Messenger of Allah, this man came to ask us about this wicked person who was stoned today." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not call him wicked. By Allah, he is better in the sight of Allah than musk."
[Machine] "We were young boys walking to the market when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was presented with a man who had committed adultery, and he was stoned to death. Then a man came and asked us about the whereabouts of that man who was stoned. So we went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, this man is asking us about that wicked person.' He ﷺ said, 'Do not say wicked. By Allah, he is purer in the sight of Allah than musk.'"
