16. Chapter of Ḍād (Male)
١٦۔ بَابُ الضَّادِ
[Machine] An Arab came from the tribe of Banu Saad ibn Bakr to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Peace be upon you, O boy of Banu Abd al-Muttalib." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "And upon you be peace." The man said, "I am a man from your relatives, from the tribe of Banu Saad ibn Bakr. I am the messenger of my people to you, and I have come to you with their request. My request is urgent, and my pleas to you are urgent." The Prophet ﷺ told him, "Wait, O brother of Banu Saad." The man asked, "Who created you? Who created those who came before you and who is the Creator of those who come after you?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Allah." The man asked, "Is it Allah who sent you?" The Prophet ﷺ answered, "Yes." The man continued, "Tell me, who created the seven heavens and the seven earths and caused provision to flow between them?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Allah." The man asked again, "Is it Allah who sent you?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Yes." The man then said, "We have found in your book that your messengers have commanded us to pray five prayers at their appointed times throughout the day and night. Is this your command?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Yes." The man continued, "We have also found in your book that your messengers have commanded us to fast during the month of Ramadan. Is this your command?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Yes." The man also said, "We have found in your book that your messengers have commanded us to take a portion of our wealth and give it to the needy among us. Is this your command?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Yes." The man then said, "As for the fifth matter, I will not ask you about it, nor do I have any concern about it, which refers to indecent acts." The Prophet ﷺ laughed until his molars became visible and said, "By the One who sent me with the truth, I will indeed act upon it. Whoever among my people obeys me and then turns back, I will laugh at him." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, if he is truthful, he will enter paradise."

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated that Husayn ibn Abdullah ibn Dhumayra narrated from his father, from his grandfather, that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, marry me to so-and-so woman." He said, "Do you have anything to give her as dowry?" He said, "I have nothing." He asked, "To whom does this ring belong?" The man said, "It belongs to me." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Give it to her as dowry and marry her. And marry another woman on the basis of Surah Al-Baqarah, even if you have nothing."
