that while he was sitting with Messenger of Allah ﷺ he said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! We get female captives as our share of booty, and we are interested in their prices, what is your opinion about coitus interrupt us?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you really do that? It is better for you not to do it. No soul that which Allah has destined to exist, but will surely come into existence.

أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ؓ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نُصِيبُ سَبْيًا فَنُحِبُّ الأَثْمَانَ فَكَيْفَ تَرَى فِي الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ أَوَإِنَّكُمْ تَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكَ لاَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لاَ تَفْعَلُوا ذَلِكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ نَسَمَةٌ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلاَّ هِيَ خَارِجَةٌ

That while he was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ a man from the Ansar came and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! We get slave girls from the war captives and we love property; what do you think about coitus interruptus?" Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you do that? It is better for you not to do it, for there is no soul which Allah has ordained to come into existence but will be created."

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنِ الأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نُصِيبُ سَبْيًا وَنُحِبُّ الْمَالَ كَيْفَ تَرَى فِي الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَوَإِنَّكُمْ تَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكَ لاَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لاَ تَفْعَلُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَتْ نَسَمَةٌ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلاَّ هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ

“A man asked the Messenger of about coitus interruptus. He said: 'Do you do that? If you do not do so, it will not harm; for there is no soul that (SWT) has decreed will exist but it will come into being.' “

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ أَوَتَفْعَلُونَ لاَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لاَ تَفْعَلُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ نَسَمَةٍ قَضَى اللَّهُ لَهَا أَنْ تَكُونَ إِلاَّ هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ

“A man asked the Messenger of about coitus interruptus. He said: 'Do you do that? If you do not do so, it will not harm; for there is no soul that (SWT) has decreed will exist but it will come into being.' “ (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1926)

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ؟ فَقَالَ «أَوَ تَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكَ فَلَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ نَسَمَةٍ قَضَى اللَّهُ تَعَالَى أَنْ تَكُونَ إِلَّا كَانَتْ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about isolation, and he said, "Are you doing it?" They said, "Yes." He said, "Then it is not obligatory for you not to do it. Verily, Allah, the Most High, has not decreed for a soul to create it, except that it exists."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ أَوَإِنَّكُمْ تَفْعَلُونَ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَلَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى لَمْ يَقْضِ لِنَفْسٍ أَنْ يَخْلُقَهَا إِلَّا هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ

that while he (Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī) was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a man came from the Anṣār and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! We get female captives as our share ˹of booty˺, and we are interested in their prices, what is your opinion about coitus interruptus?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you really do that? No, you should not do that for it is not for a soul that Allah has decreed ˹to exist˺ but will surely ˹come into existence.˺"

سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ إِنْ تَفْعَلُوا ذَلِكَ لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ نَسَمَةٌ قَضَى اللهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ إِلَّا هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was approached by a group of the Banu Sulaym tribe and they said, "O Messenger of Allah, we participate in battles and we separate [the captives] from them." He said, "Indeed, you do so." They said, "Yes." He said, "There is no soul that Allah intends to bring forth from the loins of a man except that it is brought forth. If He wills, and if He does not will, then it is not upon you to do so."

أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَفَرٌ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نُصِيبُ سَبَايَا وَإِنَّا نَعْزِلُ عَنْهُنَّ قَالَ «وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَفْعَلُونَ» قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ «مَا مِنْ نَسَمَةٍ أَرَادَ اللهُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ مِنْ صُلْبِ رَجُلٍ إِلَّا وَهِي خَارِجَةٌ إِنْ شَاءَ وَإِنْ أَبَى فَلَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about isolation, and he said, "It is not necessary for you not to do it, for there is no soul that is decreed to exist except that it is already in existence." Hamza said, "It is a mistake that Ma'mar contradicted."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ «لَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوهُ فَإِنَّهُ مَا مِنْ نَسَمَةٍ تُقْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ إِلَّا وَهِيَ كَائِنَةٌ» قَالَ حَمْزَةُ هُوَ خَطَأٌ خَالَفَهُ مَعْمَرٌ

[AI] He informed him that while he was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, a man from the Ansar came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are engaging in raiding which we love and is dear to us. What is your opinion on it in isolation?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "And indeed, you do that? There is no harm if you do not engage in it, for it is not a breath that Allah has written to come out except that it comes out."

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نُصِيبُ سَبْيًا فَنُحِبُّ الْأَثْمَانَ فَكَيْفَ تَرَى فِي الْعَزْلِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَفْعَلُونَ ذَلِكَ؟ مَا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ لَا تَفْعَلُوا ذَلِكَ فَإِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ نَسَمَةٌ كَتَبَ اللهُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ إِلَّا هِيَ خَارِجَةٌ

"أَوَ إِنَّكُمْ لَتفْعَلُون؟ مَا مِنْ نَسَمَةٍ أَرَادَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَخْرُج من صُلْب رَجُلٍ إِلَّا وهى خَارجَةٌ إِنَّ شَاءَ، وَإِنْ أَبَى فَلَا عَلَيْكُم أَن لا تَفْعَلُوا ".

"لا تَفْعَلُوا؛ فَإنَّهُ لَيسَ مِنْ نَسَمَةٍ أَخَذَ اللهُ ميثَاقَهَا إلا وَهِيَ كَائِنةٌ، فَلا عَلَيكُمْ أَنْ لا تَفْعَلُوا".
