"Every time we wanted to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying at night we saw him, and every time we wanted to see him sleeping, we saw him."

أَنْ نَرَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي اللَّيْلِ مُصَلِّيًا إِلاَّ رَأَيْنَاهُ وَلاَ نَشَاءُ أَنْ نَرَاهُ نَائِمًا إِلاَّ رَأَيْنَاهُ

[AI] Regarding the night prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "Whenever we wished to see him praying at night, we would see him. And whenever we wished to see him sleeping, we would see him. And he used to fast during the month until we would say he does not break his fast at all, and he would break his fast until we would say he does not fast at all."

عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ مَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْ نَرَاهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَمَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْ نَرَاهُ نَائِمًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَكَانَ يَصُومُ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا

[AI] Regarding the night prayer of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Whenever we wished to see him praying, we would see him, and whenever he was sleeping, we would see him."

عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ مَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْنَرَاهُ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَلَا نَائِمًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ

[AI] Regarding the night prayer of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he said: "We did not desire to see him praying except that we saw him, and we did not desire to see him sleeping except that we saw him."

عَنْ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ مَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْ نَرَاهُ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَلَا نَائِمًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ

[AI] We never saw the Prophet ﷺ praying at night except that we saw him praying, and we never wished to see him sleeping at night except that we saw him sleeping.

أَنْ نَرَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ مُصَلِّيًا وَمَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ نَرَاهُ نَائِمًا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ نَائِمًا»

"Every time we wanted to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying at night we saw him, and every time we wanted to see him sleeping, we saw him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1627)
