I pledged to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to perform Salah, pay the Zakah, be sincere toward every Muslim and forsake the idolaters.

بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى إِقَامِ الصَّلاَةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ وَعَلَى فِرَاقِ الْمُشْرِكِ

"I came to the Prophet when he was accepting (the people's) pledge, and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, extend you hand so that I may give you my pledge, and state your terms, for you know best.' He said: 'I accept you pledge that you will worship Allah, establish Salah, pay the Zakah, be sincere toward the Muslims, and forsake the idolaters."

جَرِيرٌ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُبَايِعُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ابْسُطْ يَدَكَ حَتَّى أُبَايِعَكَ وَاشْتَرِطْ عَلَىَّ فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلاَةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَتُنَاصِحَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَتُفَارِقَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

[AI] I asked, O Messenger of Allah, stipulate for me (conditions) to follow. He said: Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, establish the obligatory prayers, pay the obligatory charity, advise the Muslims, and disassociate from the disbelievers.

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ تَعْبُدُ اللهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُصَلِّي الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَتُؤَدِّي الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ وَتَنْصَحُ لِلْمُسْلِمِ وَتَبْرَأُ مِنَ الْكَافِرِ

I pledged to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to perform Salah, pay the Zakah, be sincere toward every Muslim and forsake the idolaters. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4175)

أَنَّهُ قَالَ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى إِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَالنُّصْحِ لِلْمُسْلِمِ وَعَلَى فِرَاقِالْمُشْرِكِ

[AI] "O Messenger of Allah, stipulate upon me," he said, "that I worship Allah alone, not associating anything with Him, and that I perform the obligatory prayers, pay the obligatory zakat, advise the Muslims, and disassociate myself from the disbelievers."

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ قَالَ تَعْبُدُ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُصَلِّي الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَتُؤَدِّي الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ وَتَنْصَحُ الْمُسْلِمَ وَتَبْرَأُ مِنَ الْكَافِرِ

[AI] "When he pledged allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ , he took an oath not to associate anything with Allah, establish prayer, give zakat, advise the Muslims, and separate from the polytheists."

أَنَّهُ حِينَ بَايَعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَخَذَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ لَا يُشْرِكَ بِاللهِشَيْئًا وَيُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَيَنْصَحَ الْمُسْلِمَ وَيُفَارِقَ الْمُشْرِكَ

[AI] I said to the Prophet ﷺ , "Make a condition upon me." He said, "Worship Allah, do not associate anything with Him, perform the obligatory prayers, give the obligatory Zakah, advise the Muslims, and disassociate from the disbelievers."

قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ قَالَ تَعْبُدُ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُصَلِّي الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَتُؤَدِّي الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ وَتَنْصَحُ لِلْمُسْلِمِ وَتَبْرَأُ مِنَ الْكَافِرِ

[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, make a condition upon me, for you know better about conditions." He said, "I will make a covenant with you that you worship Allah alone, associate nothing with Him, establish prayer, give Zakat, advise the Muslims, and renounce the polytheists."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِالشَّرْطِ قَالَ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَتَنْصَحَ الْمُسْلِمَ وَتَبْرَأَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِ

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to pledge allegiance to him, so I said, "Give me your hand and stipulate conditions for me, as you are the most knowledgeable about it." So he said, "I pledge allegiance to you upon the condition that you do not associate anything with Allah, establish the prayer, give the Zakat, advise the Muslims, and separate from the polytheists."

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُبَايِعُهُ فَقُلْتُ هَاتِ يَدَكَ وَاشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ وَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِالشَّرْطِ فَقَالَ أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى أَنْ لَا تُشْرِكَ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِيَالزَّكَاةَ وَتَنْصَحَ الْمُسْلِمَ وَتُفَارِقَ الْمُشْرِكَ

حَدِّثْنِي بِعَمَلٍ يَجِبُ لِلْعَبْدِ بِهِ الْجَنَّةُ إِذَا عَمِلَهُ قَالَ بَخٍ بَخٍ سَأَلْتَ عَنْ عَظِيمٍ وَهُوَ يَسِيرٌ لِمَنْ يَسَّرَهُ اللَّهُ لَهُ أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَأَدِّ الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ وَلَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا

[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, make a condition upon me, as you know better about the condition from me." He said, "I give you my pledge that you worship Allah alone, associate nothing with Him, establish prayer, give Zakat, advise the Muslims, and separate from the polytheists."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِالشَّرْطِ مِنِّي قَالَ «أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكَ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَتَنْصَحَ الْمُسْلِمَ وَتُفَارِقَ الْمُشْرِكَ»

[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, set conditions for me, for you know better." He said, "Worship Allah, associating nothing with Him, establish prayer, give zakah, advise the Muslims, and disassociate from the disbelievers."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ فَإِنَّكَ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «اعْبُدِ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ وَتَنْصَحُ الْمُسْلِمَ وَتَبْرَأُ مِنَ الْكَافِرِ»

[AI] I came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, set a condition for me, as you know my condition better than me, then extend your hand so that I can pledge allegiance to you." He said, "Worship Allah alone, associate nothing with Him, establish prayer, give zakat, advise the Muslim, and separate from the polytheist."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِالشَّرْطِ مِنِّي ثُمَّ ابْسُطْ يَدَكَ فَأُبَايِعَكَ قَالَ «تَعْبُدُ اللهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ وَتَنْصَحُ الْمُسْلِمَ وَتُفَارِقُ الْمُشْرِكَ»

[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, give me your pledge of allegiance and state your conditions for me, for you know best." So he extended his hand and I pledged allegiance to him. He said, "Do not associate anything with Allah, establish prayer, give Zakah, advise the Muslims, and stay away from the disbelievers."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بَايِعْنِي وَاشْتَرِطْ عَلَيَّ فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ فَبَسَطَ يَدَهُ فَبَايَعَهُ فَقَالَ «لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ وَتَنْصَحُ الْمُسْلِمَ وَتُفَارِقُ الْكَافِرَ»

"I came to the Prophet when he was accepting (the people's) pledge, and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, extend you hand so that I may give you my pledge, and state your terms, for you know best.' "أُبَايِعُكَ على أن تعبدَ اللهَ وتقيمَ الصلاةَ وتُؤتىَ الزكاةَ وتُنَاصِحَ المسلِمَ، وتُفَارقَ المشرِكَ".

"أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْركَ بِه شيْئًا، وَتُقيمَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَتُؤْتى الزَّكَاةَ، وَتَصُومَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ، وَتَحُجَّ وَتَعْتَمرَ، وَتَسْمَعَ وَتُطِيعَ وَعَلَيْكَ بالعَلَانية وَإيَّاكَ والسِّرِّ" .

"الإِسلامُ أَن تعبدَ الله ولا تُشرِكَ به شيئًا، وتقيم الصَّلاة، وتؤتَى الزكاةَ المفروضةَ، وتصومَ رمضانَ، وتحُجَّ البيتَ" .

"تعْبُدُ الله لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شيئًا، وَتَقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ المَكْتُوبَةَ وتُؤَدِّى الزَّكَاةَ المَفْرُوضَة، وَتصُومُ رَمَضانَ".

"تعْبُدُ الله، وَلَا تُشْرِك بِهِ شَيئًا وتقيمُ الصَّلاةَ، وَتُؤْتِى الزَّكَاةِ، وَتَصوُمُ رَمَضَان، وتَحُجُّ البيتَ، وَتأتِى إِلَى النَّاسِ ما تحبُّ أنْ يُؤتى إِليكَ، وَتكْرهُ لِلنَّاسِ مَا تَكْرهُ أَنْ يُؤْتَى إِليك".

"تَعْبُدُ الله تَعَالى، لا تُشْركُ به شيئًا، وتُقِيمُ الصَّلاة، وَتؤْتِى الزَّكاةَ، وَتصُومُ شهرَ رَمَضَان، وَتَحُجُّ، وَتْعتَمِرُ، وَتَسْمَعُ، وَتُطِيعُ".

"لَا تُشْرِك بِالله شْيئًا، وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلاة، وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ، وَتُحِبُّ للِنَّاسِ مَا تُحِبُّ أنْ يُؤْتَى إِلَيكَ".

"لَا تُشْرِكْ بالله شيئًا، وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلاة، وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ، وَتنْصَحُ الْمُسْلِمَ، وَتُفَارِقُ الْمُشْرِكَ".

"عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ! ابْسُطْ يَدَكَ فَلنُبَايِعْكَ، وَاشْتَرِطْ فَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِالشَّرْطِ مِنِّى، قَالَ: أُبَايِعُكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَعْبُدَ الله لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شِيْئًا، وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَتُؤْتِىَ الزَّكَاةَ, وَتَنْصَحَ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ، فَتُفَارِقَ المُشْرِكَ".
