"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: 'You should recite Subhan-Allah, wal-Hamdu-Lillah, wa la ilahah illallah, wa Allahu Akbar (Glory is to Allah, praise is to Allah, none has the right to be worshiped but Allah, and Allah is the Most Great), for it sheds sins like the tree sheds its leaves.'"

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَيْكَ بِسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ فَإِنَّهَا يَعْنِي يَحْطُطْنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا تَحُطُّ الشَّجَرَةُ وَرَقَهَا

[AI] Four phrases that can be said by someone in a state of ritual impurity (junub) or menstruation (haidh): "SubhanAllah" (Glory be to Allah), "Alhamdulillah" (All praise is due to Allah), "La ilaha illallah" (There is no deity but Allah), and "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest).

أَرْبَعٌ لَا يَحْرُمْنَ عَلَى جُنُبٍ وَلَا حَائِضٍ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

[AI] I heard the messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever says, 'There is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest, all praise is due to Allah, and glory be to Allah, and there is no power or strength except with Allah', his sins will be forgiven even if they are as much as the foam of the sea."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِوَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ كُفِّرَتْ ذُنُوبُهُ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ

Yahya related to me from Malik that Umara ibn Sayyad had heard Said ibn al Musayyab say about abiding good deeds that they were a slave's saying 'Allah is greater' (Allahu akbar) and 'Glory be to Allah' (Subahana'llah) and 'Praise be to Allah' (al-hamdu lillah) and 'There is no god but Allah and there is no power and no strength except by Allah.' (La ilaha illa'llah wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa bi'llah.)

يَقُولُ فِي الْبَاقِيَاتِ الصَّالِحَاتِ إِنَّهَا قَوْلُ الْعَبْدِ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ

[AI] He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: Whoever says "Subhanallah (Glory be to Allah), Alhamdulillah (All praise be to Allah), La ilaha illa Allah (There is no god except Allah), Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest), and there is no power or strength except with Allah," Allah says: "My servant has submitted and surrendered."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ قَالَ اللَّهُ أَسْلَمَ عَبْدِي وَاسْتَسْلَمَ

"أكْثِروا من قَوْل: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، والحمدُ للهِ، ولا إِلَه إلا اللهُ، واللهُ أكبَرُ، ولا حولَ ولا قُوَّةَ إلا باللهِ؛ فإِنَّهُنَّ من الباقياتِ الصَّالِحَات، وهُنَّ يَحْطُطنَ الخَطَايا، كما تَحُطُّ الشَجَرةُ وَرَقَهَا، وهُنَّ من كنُوزِ الجنَّةِ".

"إِنَّ قَوْلَ لَا إِلهَ إِلا اللَّهُ، وسبحان اللَّه، والحمدُ للَّهِ، واللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ يَحْطُطْنَ الخطايا كما يَتحَاتٌ وَرَقُ هَذِهِ الشجَرةِ".

"تدْرُونَ مَا البَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ؟ سُبحَانَ اللهِ، وَالحَمْدُ للهِ، وَلَا إِله إِلَّا اللهُ، وَاللهُ أكبَرُ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا باللهِ".

[AI] "Take them before you are separated from them, the enduring good deeds, for they are treasures of Paradise: Glory be to Allah, all praise is due to Allah, there is no deity but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest."

"خُذْهُنَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُحَال بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنهُنَّ، البَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ فَإِنَّهُن من كنوز الجَنَّةِ: سُبحانَ اللَّه والحمدُ للَّه، ولا إِلهَ إِلا اللَّه، واللَّه أَكبرُ".

"خُذُوا جُنَّتكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ؛ قُولُوا: سُبْحَان اللَّه، والحمد للَّه، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّه، وَاللَّه أَكْبَرُ؛ فَإِنَّهُن يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ مُقَدِّماتٌ وَمُعَقِّبَاتٌ ومجنباتٌ، وَهُنَّ الباقِيَاتُ الصَّالحَاتُ".

"عَلَيكَ بِسُبحَانَ اللهِ، والْحَمدُ للهِ ولا إِلَهَ إلا اللهُ، واللهُ أَكْبَرُ، فإِنَّهُنَّ يَحْطُطْنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا تَحُطُّ الشَّجَرَةُ وَرَقَهَا".

"عَلَيكمْ بِهَذِهِ الْخَمس: سُبْحَان الله، والْحَمَد للهِ، ولا إِلَهَ إلَّا اللهُ، واللهُ أَكْبَرُ، ولا حَوْلَ ولا قُوَّة إلا باللهِ".

"قلْ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ للهِ، وَلَا إِلهَ إِلَّا الله، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ، فَإِنَّهُنَّ الْبَاقيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ، وَهُن يَحْطُطْنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا تَحُطُّ الشَّجَرَةُ وَرَقَهَا، وَهُنَّ مِنْ كُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ".

"مَنْ قَال: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ للهِ، وَلا إِلهَ إِلا اللهُ، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إِلا باللهِ، قَال اللهُ: أَسْلَمَ عَبْدِي وَاسْتَسْلَمَ".

"يَا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ: قُلْ سُبْحَانَ الله، وَالْحَمْدُ لله، وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ الله، وَالله أَكْبَرُ، وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِالله، إِنَّهُنَّ الْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ، وَهُنَّ يَحْطُطْنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا تَحُطُّ الشَّجَرَةُ وَرَقَهَا، وَهِيَ كُنُوزُ الْجَنَّةِ".

[AI] From Abu Salama bin Abdur-Rahman who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down one day and took a dry stick and started removing its leaves. Then he said: To say, "There is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, All praise belongs to Allah, and Glory be to Allah" removes sins as the leaves are shed from this tree. Take them, O Abu Darda, before there comes a time when you will be prevented from them, for they are the enduring good deeds, and they are from the treasures of Paradise. Abu Salama said: So whenever Abu Darda mentioned this hadith, he would say: I will declare the oneness of Allah, I will magnify Allah, and I will glorify Him until if someone sees me, they would think I am insane.

"جَلَسَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَأَخَذَ عُودًا يَابِسًا فَحَطَّ وَرَقَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَنْ أَقُولَ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله، والله أَكَبْرُ، وَالْحَمْد لله، وسبحَانَ الله تَحُطُّ الْخَطَايَا كمَا تُحَطُّ وَرَقُ هَذِهِ الشَّجْرَةِ، خُذْهُنَ يَا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ قَبْلَ أنْ يُحَالَ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُنَّ فإِنَّهُنَّ الْبَاقِياتُ الصَّالِحاتُ، وَهُنَّ مِنْ كنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ، قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمْةَ: فَكَان أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ إِذَا ذُكِر هَذا الْحَدِيثُ قَالَ: لأُهَلِّلَنَّ وَأُكَبِّرِنَّ ولأُسَبِّحَنَّ حَتَّى إِذَا رآنِى جَاهِلٌ حَسبَ أَنِّى مَجْنُونٌ".
