[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , heard about them and came to them and sat with them. He asked them, "Do you have anything better than what you came for?" They asked, "What is that?" He said, "I am the Messenger of Allah, sent to invite people to worship Allah alone, without associating anything with Him, and a book was revealed to me." Then he mentioned Islam and recited the Quran to them. Iyas bin Mu'adh, who was a young boy, said, "O people, by Allah, this is better than what you came for." Abu Haytham, Anas bin Rafe', took a handful of pebbles from the ground and hit Iyas bin Mu'adh in the face with them. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , got up and left, and they returned to Madinah. This incident became known as the Bu'ath dispute between the Aws and Khazraj tribes. Iyas bin Mu'adh did not survive long after that. Mahmud bin Labid stated that those who were present with him when he died attested that they heard him continuously saying Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulillah, and SubhanAllah until he died. They had no doubt that he died as a Muslim. Indeed, he had embraced Islam in that gathering when he heard from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ .

They asked, 'What is it?' He said, 'I am the Messenger of Allah, sent by Allah to call people to worship Him alone without associating anything with Him, and to reveal the Book to me.' Abu Al-Haysar took a handful of dirt and hit Iyas ibn Mu'adh in the face and said, 'Leave us alone, for by my life, we did not come for this.' So Iyas fell silent and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up and they went back to Al-Madinah. This incident took place near the Bua'th between the Aws and Khazraj tribes. Iyas ibn Mu'adh did not survive for long after that." Mahmud ibn Labid said, "Someone who was present with him at the time of his death informed me that they kept hearing him saying 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest), praising and glorifying Allah until he died. They did not doubt that he died as a Muslim. He had truly embraced Islam in that gathering when he heard what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah heard about them, so he came to them and sat with them and said, "Do you have anything better to offer than what you have come for?" They asked, "And what is that?" He said, "I am the Messenger of Allah, sent to invite people to worship Him alone and not associate anything with Him, and Allah has revealed to me the Book." Then he explained Islam to them and recited the Quran to them. Iyas ibn Mu'adh, who was still a young boy, said, "By Allah, this is better than what you have come for." Abu Al-Haysar took a handful of dirt from Al-Bathha and hit Iyas in the face with it and said, "Leave us alone. By my oath, we came for something other than this." Iyas remained silent and the Messenger of Allah stood up and left. They went back to Al-Madinah. This incident took place before the Battle of Bu'ath between the Aws and the Khazraj. Iyas ibn Mu'adh did not live long after that. Mahmoud ibn Labid narrated that those who were present with him when he died mentioned that they continued to hear him saying "Allahu Akbar" and praising and glorifying Allah until he died. They had no doubt that he died as a Muslim. It was clear to them that he had embraced Islam during that gathering when he heard what the Messenger of Allah had said.
