The Prophet ﷺ said: When a mukatab (a slave who has made an agreement to purchase his freedom) gifts blood-money or an inheritance, he can inherit in accordance with the extent to which he has been emancipated. Abu Dawud said: Wuhaib transmitted it from Ayyub, from 'Ikrimah, on the authority of 'Ali, from the Prophet ﷺ: and Hammad b. Zaid and Isma'il have transmitted it in a mursal form (i.e the link of the Companion being missing) from Ayyub, from 'Ikrimah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Isma'il b. 'Ulayyah has treated it as a statement of 'Ikrimah.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أَصَابَ الْمُكَاتَبُ حَدًّا أَوْ وَرِثَ مِيرَاثًا يَرِثُ عَلَى قَدْرِ مَا عَتَقَ مِنْهُ

"The Mukatab is free to the extent that the has paid off (toward buying his freedom); he Hadd punishment should be carried out on him proportionate to the amount he has paid off (toward buying his freedom); and he inherits proportionate to the amount he has paid off (toward buying his freedom)."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمُكَاتَبُ يَعْتِقُ بِقَدْرِ مَا أَدَّى وَيُقَامُ عَلَيْهِ الْحَدُّ بِقَدْرِ مَا عَتَقَ مِنْهُ وَيَرِثُ بِقَدْرِ مَا عَتَقَ مِنْهُ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a slave is given a limit or inherits wealth, he inherits according to the amount that he has been freed, and he is held accountable according to the amount that he has been freed from."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا أَصَابَ الْمُكَاتَبُ حَدًّا أَوْ وَرِثَ مِيرَاثًا فَإِنَّهُ يَرِثُ بِقَدْرِ مَا عُتِقَ وَيُقَامُ عَلَيْهِ بِقَدْرِ مَا عُتِقَ مِنْهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If a slave is freed and leaves behind inheritance or commits a punishable offense, then he will inherit according to what has been freed from him, and the punishment will be carried out on him according to the extent of what has been freed from him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا مَاتَ الْمُكَاتَبُ وَتَرَكَ مِيرَاثًا أَوْ أَصَابَ حَدًّا فَإِنَّهُ يَرِثُ عَلَى قَدْرِ مَا أُعْتِقَ مِنْهُ وَيُقَامُ عَلَيْهِ الْحَدُّ بِقَدْرِ مَا أُعْتِقَ مِنْهُ»

"The Mukatab is free to the extent that the has paid off (toward buying his freedom); he Hadd punishment should be carried out on him proportionate to the amount he has paid off (toward buying his freedom); and he inherits proportionate to the amount he has paid off (toward buying his freedom)." عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُكَاتَبُ يَعْتِقُ مِنْهُ بِقَدْرِ مَا أَدَّى وَيُقَامُ عَلَيْهِ الْحَدُّ بِقَدْرِ مَا عُتِقَ مِنْهُ وَيَرِثُ بِقَدْرِ مَا عَتَقَ مِنْهُ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "If a slave is given a punishment or a inheritance, he will be treated in accordance with the amount that he has emancipated himself."

النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أَصَابَ الْمُكَاتَبُ حَدًّا أَوْ مِيرَاثًا وَرِثَ بِحِسَابِ مَا عَتَقَ مِنْهُ وَأُقِيمَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَدُّ بِحِسَابِ مَا عَتَقَ مِنْهُ

"إذا أصابَ المُكاتَبُ حَدًّا، أوْ ورث مِيراثًا. فإنهُ يرثُ على قدر ما عَتقَ، ويقامُ عليه بقدر ما عَتقَ مِنْه" .

"المُكَاتَبُ يَعْتِقُ بِقَدْرِ مَا أَدَّى، ويُقَامُ عَلَيهِ الحَدُّ بِقَدْرِ مَا غَلِقَ مِنْهُ وَيَرِثُ بَقَدرِ مَا عَتَق مِنْه".
