The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pass through the row from one side to the other; he used to set out chests and shoulders in order, and say: Do not be irregular. And he would say: Allah and His angels bless those who are near the first rows.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَخَلَّلُ الصَّفَّ مِنْ نَاحِيَةٍ إِلَى نَاحِيَةٍ يَمْسَحُ صُدُورَنَا وَمَنَاكِبَنَا وَيَقُولُ لاَ تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الأُوَلِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah and His angels bless those who are on the right flanks of the rows.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى مَيَامِنِ الصُّفُوفِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go between the rows from one side to another, patting our shoulders and chests and saying: 'Do not make your rows ragged or your hearts will be filled with enmity toward one another.' And he used to say: 'Allah and His angels send Salah upon the front rows."'

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَخَلَّلُ الصُّفُوفَ مِنْ نَاحِيَةٍ إِلَى نَاحِيَةٍ يَمْسَحُ مَنَاكِبَنَا وَصُدُورَنَا وَيَقُولُ لاَ تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْمُتَقَدِّمَةِ

“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Allah and the angels send blessings upon the first row.’”

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الأُوَلِ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Allah and the angels send blessings upon the first row.’”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الأَوَّلِ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Allah and His angels send blessings upon the right side of the rows.’”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى مَيَامِنِ الصُّفُوفِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah (SWT) has angels who travel around on Earth conveying to me the Salams of my Ummah.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1282)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَلَائِكَةً سَيَّاحِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ يُبَلِّغُونِي عَنْ أُمَّتِي السَّلَامَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed three times for the front row and once for the one that follows it.

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْمُقَدَّمِ ثَلَاثًا وَعَلَى الَّذِي يَلِيهِ وَاحِدَةً

[AI] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the first row or the foremost rows."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ أَوِ الصُّفُوفِ الْأُولَى

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the rows of worshippers. Beautify the Quran with your voices. And whoever gives a container of milk or a container of water or guides a lost person, then it is like freeing a slave."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ وَزَيِّنُوا الْقُرْآنَ بِأَصْوَاتِكُمْ وَمَنْ مَنَحَ مَنِيحَةَ لَبَنٍ أَوْ مَنِيحَةَ وَرِقٍ أَوْ هَدَى زُقَاقًا فَهُوَ كَعِتْقِ رَقَبَةٍ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Allah and the angels send blessings upon the first row.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 999)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْمُقَدَّمِ

[AI] Narrated by Al-Bara' ibn 'Azib, he said: "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the rows of worshippers."

عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ يَشْهَدُ بِهِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Allah and the angels send blessings upon the first row.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 999)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon those who join the rows (during prayer)."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ الصُّفُوفَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ الصُّفُوفَ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Act differently from the Jews, for they do not pray in their sandals or their shoes. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 652)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَالِفُوا الْيَهُودَ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُصَلُّونَ فِي خِفَافِهِمْ وَلَا نِعَالِهِمْ»

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Allah and the angels send blessings upon the first row.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 999)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ وَزَيِّنُوا الْقُرْآنَ بِأَصْوَاتِكُمْ»

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ that he used to come to the back of the row to the last position and even out the chests and shoulders of the people, and he would say, "Do not differ, lest your hearts differ. Verily, Allah and His angels pray upon the first ranks."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْتِي نَاحِيَةَ الصَّفِّ إِلَى النَّاحِيَةِ الْقُصْوَى يُسَوِّي مِنْ صُدُورِ الْقَوْمِ وَمَنَاكِبِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ «لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to come to us after the prayer was established, and he would wipe our shoulders and say, "Arrange your rows and do not differ, for your hearts may differ. Let those among you who have knowledge and authority lead, and beautify the Quran with your voices. Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the front line."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَأْتِينَا إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَيَمْسَحُ عَوَاتِقَنَا وَيَقُولُ «أَقِيمُوا صُفُوفَكُمْ وَلَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَلْيَلِيَنِّي مِنْكُمْ أُولُو الْأَحْلَامِ وَالنُّهَى وَزَيِّنُوا الْقُرْآنَ بِأَصْوَاتِكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْمُقَدَّمِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "Do not differ, lest your hearts differ. Verily, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the first row, and beautify the Quran with your voices."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ مَنَاكِبَنَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَيَقُولُ «لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَلْيَلِنِي مِنْكُمْ أُولُو الْأَحْلَامِ وَالنُّهَى ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah and His angels bless those who are on the right flanks of the rows. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 676)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الْمُتَسَحِّرِينَ»

“Allah is with the judge so long as he is not unjust, but if he rules unjustly, He entrusts him to himself.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2312)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْقَاضِي مَا لَمْ يَجُرْ» *

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, Allah and His angels, even the ant in its hole and the fish in the sea, send blessings upon the teacher of goodness among the people."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ حَتَّى النَّمْلَةَ فِي جُحْرِهَا وَحَتَّى الْحُوتَ فِي الْبَحْرِ لَيُصَلُّونَ عَلَى مُعَلِّمِ النَّاسِ الْخَيْرَ»

[AI] "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon those who take their place in the first rows (of prayer), meaning the advanced row."

«إِنَّ» اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَتَقَدَّمُونَ الصُّفُوفَ بِصَلَاتِهِمْ يَعْنِي الصَّفَّ الْمُقَدَّمَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُقِيمُ مَنَاكِبَنَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَيَقُولُ «لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wipe our shoulders and say, "Stand up and do not differ, for your hearts will differ."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ مَنَاكِبَنَا وَيَقُولُ «اسْتَوُوا وَلَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ»

The Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) used to touch our shoulders in prayer and say: Keep straight, don't be irregular, for there would be dissension in your hearts. Let those of you who are sedate and prudent be near me, then those who are next to them, then those who are next to them. Abu Mas'ud said: Now-a-days there is much dissension amongst you. (Using translation from Muslim 432a)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ مَنَاكِبَنَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَيَقُولُ «سَوُّوا الْمَنَاكِبَ وَأَقِيمُوا الصُّفُوفَ وَلَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ»

[AI] When the hadith "Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet" was revealed

لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ {إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ} الْحَدِيثُ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go between the rows from one side to another, patting our shoulders and chests and saying: 'Do not make your rows ragged or your hearts will be filled with enmity toward one another.' كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَخَلَّلُ الصَّفَّ مِنْ نَاحِيَتِهِ إِلَى نَاحِيَتِهِ يَمْسَحُ مَنَاكِبَنَا وَصُدُورَنَا وَيَقُولُ «لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ» وَكَانَ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْمُقَدَّمَةِ»

[AI] Narrated Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, Allah and His angels send blessings upon those who join the rows (in congregational prayer)."

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ الصُّفُوفَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to come to us when we stood up to pray and he would wipe our necks and chests and say, "Do not differ, for if you differ, your hearts will differ. Indeed, Allah and His angels send prayers upon the first row or he said, the rows."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْتِينَا إِذَا قُمْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَيَمْسَحُ عَوَاتِقَنَا وَصُدُورَنَا وَيَقُولُ لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ أَوْ قَالَ الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ

"كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ صُدُورَنَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ مِنْ هَاهُنَا إِلَى هَاهُنَا وَيَقُولُ: سوُّوا صُفُوفَكُمْ، لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ".

"أَحَقُّ الصُّفُوفِ بِالإِتْمَامِ أَوَّلُهَا، إِنَّ الله وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الأَوَّلِ".

"عَنِ ابْن مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: إِنَّ الله وَمَلاِئكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَتَقَدَّمُونَ الصُّفُوفَ بِصَلَاتِهِمْ، يَعْنِى الصَّفَّ الْمُقَدَّمَ".
