"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to go between the rows from one side to another, patting our shoulders and chests and saying: 'Do not make your rows ragged or your hearts will be filled with enmity toward one another.' And he used to say: 'Allah and His angels send Salah upon the front rows."'

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَخَلَّلُ الصُّفُوفَ مِنْ نَاحِيَةٍ إِلَى نَاحِيَةٍ يَمْسَحُ مَنَاكِبَنَا وَصُدُورَنَا وَيَقُولُ لاَ تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْمُتَقَدِّمَةِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pass through the row from one side to the other; he used to set out chests and shoulders in order, and say: Do not be irregular. And he would say: Allah and His angels bless those who are near the first rows.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَخَلَّلُ الصَّفَّ مِنْ نَاحِيَةٍ إِلَى نَاحِيَةٍ يَمْسَحُ صُدُورَنَا وَمَنَاكِبَنَا وَيَقُولُ لاَ تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الأُوَلِ

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ that he used to come to the back of the row to the last position and even out the chests and shoulders of the people, and he would say, "Do not differ, lest your hearts differ. Verily, Allah and His angels pray upon the first ranks."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْتِي نَاحِيَةَ الصَّفِّ إِلَى النَّاحِيَةِ الْقُصْوَى يُسَوِّي مِنْ صُدُورِ الْقَوْمِ وَمَنَاكِبِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ «لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pass through the row from one side to the other; he used to set out chests and shoulders in order, and say: Do not be irregular. And he would say: Allah and His angels bless those who are near the first rows. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 664)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَمْسَحُ مَنَاكِبَنَا وَصُدُورَنَا وَيَقُولُ «لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْمُقَدَّمَةِ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to come to us when we stood up to pray and he would wipe our necks and chests and say, "Do not differ, for if you differ, your hearts will differ. Indeed, Allah and His angels send prayers upon the first row or he said, the rows."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْتِينَا إِذَا قُمْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَيَمْسَحُ عَوَاتِقَنَا وَصُدُورَنَا وَيَقُولُ لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ أَوْ قَالَ الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ

"لا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ، إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلائكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصُّفُوفِ الْمقَدَّمَةِ".
