Collected by Muslim, Abū Dāwūd, Tirmidhī, Aḥmad, Ibn Ḥibbān, Nasāʾī's Kubrá'Umar addressed us at a place known as Jabiya (Syria) and he said: Allah's Apostle ﷺ forbade us the wearing of silk but to the extent of two or three fingers or four fingers.
نَهَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلاَّ مَوْضِعَ إِصْبَعَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعٍ
'Umar wrote to 'Utbah b. Farqad that the Prophet ﷺ forbade (wearing) silk except so-and-so, and so-and-so, to the extent of two, three, or four fingers.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلاَّ مَا كَانَ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا أُصْبُعَيْنِ وَثَلاَثَةً وَأَرْبَعَةً
That 'Umar gave a Khutbah at Al-Jabiyah and he said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited silk except for two finger's worth of space, or three, or four."
نَهَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلاَّ مَوْضِعَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعٍ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing silk except the width of two fingers or three or four - and he gestured with his hand.
نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلَّا مَوْضِعَ أُصْبُعَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاثَةٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعَةٍ وَأَشَارَ بِكَفِّهِ
ذِكْرُ بَعْضِ الْوَقْتِ الَّذِي أُبِيحَ لُبْسُ الْحَرِيرِ لِلرِّجَالِ فِيهِ
