The Prophet ﷺ said: If any man is among a people in whose midst he does acts of disobedience, and, though they are able to make him change (his acts), they do not change, Allah will smite them with punishment before they die.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَكُونُ فِي قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْ يُغَيِّرُوا عَلَيْهِ فَلاَ يُغَيِّرُوا إِلاَّ أَصَابَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَمُوتُوا

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘There is no people among whom sins are committed when they are stronger and of a higher status (i.e. they have the power and ability to stop the sinners) and they do not change them, but Allah will send His punishment upon them all.’”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي هُمْ أَعَزُّ مِنْهُمْ وَأَمْنَعُ لاَ يُغَيِّرُونَ إِلاَّ عَمَّهُمُ اللَّهُ بِعِقَابٍ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘There is no people among whom sins are committed when they are stronger and of a higher status (i.e. they have the power and ability to stop the sinners) and they do not change them, but Allah will send His punishment upon them all.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4009)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يَعْمَلُونَ بِالْمَعَاصِي وَفِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ أَعَزُّ مِنْهُمْ وَأَمْنَعُ لَا يُغَيِّرُونَ إِلَّا عَمَّهُمُ اللهُ ﷻ بِعِقَابٍ أَوْ قَالَ أَصَابَهُمُ الْعِقَابُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no nation among whom those who commit sins openly among them are more honored and protected, unless they change what Allah ﷻ has decreed upon them and so Allah ﷻ inflicts them with punishment."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يَكُونُ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِهِمْ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ بِالْمَعَاصِي هُمْ أَعَزُّ مِنْهُ وَأَمْنَعُ لَمْ يُغَيِّرُوا عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا أَصَابَهُمُ اللهُ ﷻ مِنْهُ بِعِقَابٍ

[AI] "The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: There is no group of people in which sins are committed more frequently and they still retain their honor and dignity, than those who commit sins and Allah does not change their condition except by inflicting punishment upon them."

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْبِالْمَعَاصِي هُمْ أَعَزُّ وَأَكْثَرُ مِمَّنْ يَعْمَلُهُ لَمْ يُغَيِّرُوهُ إِلَّا عَمَّهُمُ اللهُ بِعِقَابٍ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ he said, "There is no group of people who commit sins openly, yet they are more honorable and considered superior than those who do not commit sins openly. If they do not repent, then Allah will surely afflict them with a punishment from Him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِيِ هُمْ أَعَزُّ مِنْهُمْ وَأَمْنَعُ لَمْ يُغَيِّرُوا إِلَّا أَصَابَهُمُ اللهُ مِنْهُ بِعِقَابٍ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is no community in which there is a man who commits sins openly, while they have the power to prevent him but they do not change him, except that Allah will afflict them with a punishment."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يَكُونُ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِهِمْ رَجُلٌ يَعْمَلُ بِالْمَعَاصِيِ هُمْ أَمْنَعُ مِنْهُ وَأَعَزُّ لَا يُغَيِّرُونَ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا أَصَابَهُمُ اللهُ بِعِقَابٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no group of people who commit sins among themselves, yet they are more honorable and greater in number than those who avoid committing them, except that Allah will surely inflict His punishment upon them."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ بَيْنَهُمْ بِالْمَعَاصِيِ هُمْ أَعَزُّ وَأَكْثَرُ مِمَّنْ يَعْمَلُهُ لَمْ يُغَيِّرُوا إِلَّا أَصَابَهُمُ اللهُ بِعِقَابِهِ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يَكُونُ فِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ يَعْمَلُ بِالْمَعَاصِيِ يَقْدِرُونَ أَنْ يُغَيِّرُوا عَلَيْهِ وَلَا يُغَيِّرُونَ إِلَّا عَمَّهُمُ اللهُ بِعِقَابٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمُوتُوا»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There is no man who lives among a people and commits sins between them, and they do not hold him accountable, except that it is likely that Allah will afflict them with punishment because of him."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يُجَاوِرُ قَوْمًا فَيَعْمَلُ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِيِ وَلَا يَأْخُذُونَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ إِلَّا أَوْشَكَ أَنْ يَعُمَّهُمُ اللهُ مِنْهُ بِعِقَابٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no nation in which those who commit sins are more numerous and more honored, and they stay silent and do not change until they are afflicted with punishment."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يَكُونُ فِيهِمْ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ بِالْمَعَاصِيِ هُمْ أَكْثَرُ مِنْهُ وَأَعَزُّ فَيَدْهُنُونَ وَيَسْكُتُونَ فَلَا يُغَيِّرُونَ إِلَّا أَصَابَتْهُمْ فِيهِ عُقُوبَةٌ»

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There is no man who is among a people and he commits sins of Allah among them and they are more than him and more prestigious, then they cover up for him in his issues, except that Allah will punish them."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَكُونُ فِي قَوْمٍ يَعْمَلُ بِمَعَاصِي اللهِ فِيهِمْ وَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ مِنْهُمْ وَأَعَزُّ ثُمَّ يَدَّهِنُوا فِي شَأْنِهِ إِلَّا عَاقَبَهُمُ اللهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no group of people in whom sins are committed more and are considered less significant than those who continue to commit them without repentance. They are near to being afflicted by the punishment of Allah." And in another narration by Wahb, he said, "Except that He blinds them with their sins."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي هُمْ أَكْثَرُ وَأَعَزُّ مِمَّنْ يَعْمَلُ بِهَا ثُمَّ لَا يُغَيِّرُونَهُ إِلَّا يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَعُمَّهُمُ اللهُ بِعِقَابٍ وَفِي حَدِيثِ وَهْبٍ إِلَّا عَمَّهُمْ

"أَيُّمَا قَومٍ عُملَ فِيهِمْ بالمعَاصِى وهُم أَعَزُّ وَأكْثَرُ لَمْ يُغَيِّرُوا إِلَّا عَمَّهُم اللهُ بعِقَابهِ ".

"مَا مِنْ أَحَد يَكُونُ في قَوْم يَعْمَلُ فيهم بالْمعَاصِي، يَقْدِرُون عَلَي أَنْ يُغَيِّروا عَلَيه إلا أَصَابَهم الله بِعقَابٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمُوتُوا".

"مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْ بِالمَعَاصِى يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْ يُغَيِّرُوا وَلا يُغيِّرُوا إِلا أَوْشَكَ أَنْ يَعُمَّهُمُ اللهُ مِنْهُ بِعقَاب".

"عَنْ أبي بكرٍ قال: إِذا عَملَ قومٌ بالمعَاصِى بيْنَ ظَهْرَانَى قَوْمٍ هُمْ أعزُّ مِنْهُمْ فَلَمْ يغيَّروا عَلَيْهِمْ، أنزَل الله عليهمْ بلاءً ثمَّ لَمْ يَنْزِعْهُ مِنْهُمْ".
