On the day (of the battle) of Badr when we stood in rows against (the army of) Quraish and they stood in rows against us, the Prophet ﷺ said, "When they do come near you, throw arrows at them."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ حِينَ صَفَفْنَا لِقُرَيْشٍ وَصَفُّوا لَنَا إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ

On the day of Badr, Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "When the enemy comes near to you, shoot at them but use your arrows sparingly (so that your arrows should not be wasted).

لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ وَاسْتَبْقُوا نَبْلَكُمْ

On the day of (the battle of) Badr, Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "When your enemy comes near to you (i.e. overcome you by sheer number), shoot at them but use your arrows sparingly."

لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ يَعْنِي كَثَرُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ وَاسْتَبْقُوا نَبْلَكُمْ

Abu Usaid reported the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ as saying to us at the battle of Badr when he drew up in rows. When they came near you, shoot arrows at them, but do not use all your arrows.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ اصْطَفَفْنَا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ يَعْنِي إِذَا غَشُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ وَاسْتَبْقُوا نَبْلَكُمْ

The Prophet ﷺ said at the battle of Badr: When they come near you shoot arrows at them; and do not draw swords at them until they come near you.

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ وَلاَ تَسُلُّوا السُّيُوفَ حَتَّى يَغْشَوْكُمْ

[AI] "Except that the Prophet ﷺ said, or as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَّا قَالَ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Badr, when we lined up for battle against the Quraysh and they lined up against us, "When they overpower you, throw at them with stones."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ حِينَ صُفِفْنَا لِلْقِتَالِ لِقُرَيْشٍ وَصُفُّوا لَنَا «إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ»

"If there comes to you a man who is respected among his own people, then honor him." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3712)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ كَرِيمُ قَوْمٍ فَأَكْرِمُوهُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Badr, when we lined up for battle, "If they outnumber you, then throw them with arrows."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ حِينَ صَفَفَنَا لِلْقِتَالِ «إِنْ أَكْثَبُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When they deceive you, punish them with nobility."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ»

The Prophet ﷺ said at the battle of Badr: When they come near you shoot arrows at them; and do not draw swords at them until they come near you. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2664)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ إِذَا أَكْثَبُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْ بِالنَّبْلِ وَلَا تَسُلُّوا السُّيُوفَ حَتَّى يَغْشَوْكُمْ

"إذا أَكْثبوكم فارمُوهُمْ بالنَّبل ولا تسلُّوا السُّيوفَ حتى يغشَوْكم".

"عَنْ أَبِى أَسِيد السَّاعِدِىِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ حِينَ صَفَفْنَا لِقُرَيْش وَصَفُّوا لَنَا: إِذَا أكْثبوكمْ فَارْمُوهمْ بِالنَّبْلِ".
